the refrigerator simply by transferring the cold air from freezer via circulation fan the temp controls tells the fan to circulate cold air until the thermostat is satisfied I would check to see if the fan is blowing on most models I have seen its located in the left rear wall closest to the freezer above the top shelf

Te fan in the freezer is on but not turning, thus the refrigerator will not cool. How do I get the fan to turn?

the fan in the top (back) of the freezer is the evaporator fan. when it stops the refrigerator will not work so you need to replace the fan. usually if enough screws are carefully removed the plastic around the fan will come out and the fan can be unbolted taken out and replaced. I would not try to oil up the fan as it will smell kinda funny in the refrigerator and it will fail again quite soon. They are not to expensive and can be bought from the appliance repair parts store. I would take the old fan out and take it right to the store so they can match it up with a replacement unit.

I have a Frigidaire top freezer refrigerator which stopped cooling the lower section while the top section stays frozen. I can hear it run through it's cycle but no freezer fan comes on. What would cause...

the evaporator fan is not spinning. the coil is getting too cold because the fan is not circulating the air across it. defrost it and see if the fan works. If not, they are fairly inexpensive and easy to replace. There is an access cover on the back wall of the freezer. remove it, and the fan is right behind it.

Frigidaire refrigerator is warm on top of frig and freezer but fine on the bottom of both.

i suspect the fan is not working. take the back panel off inside the freezer and check that the fan is free to rotate, check for continuity thro the fan motor and check you have power to the fan

Top refrigerator section will not cool

Check the evaporator fan , freezer must have a fan to avoid ice formation, if evaporator does not work, thermic sensor jams up and freezer stop working. The fan is located behind the panel in the freezer.

Check the back of your freezer, If there is frost or ice, then the unit is not defrosting.
This is often caused by problems with evaporator system.
Sometimes you also need to check the defrost timer, located at the top of the FFC on the Top freezer.
Check also the defrost thermostat, which is on the evaporator inside the freezer.
If it isnt defrosting, change both.
