Question about Whirlpool Dryers
We have a Whirlpool Elite Dryer. All of a sudden, the heat function doesn't work and the clothes don't dry. Is it broken?
Sounds like your problem is the heating coil or the thermostat/thermistor. Chances are its the heating coil so I will deal with that.
If you plan to check/repair yourself then you need to unplug the dryer.
Remove the back of the dryer, try to locate the air tube from the blower to the drum. This is normally where the heating coil and thermostats/thermistor are located.
Once you have located the heating coil, remove the two wires and connect a continuity meter across the coil, you should read continuity across the coil...if you do not get a reading, the the coil is faulty and needs replacement.
I hope this helps
