Question about HP Pavilion dv4000 Notebook

1 Answer

I have a problem with my HP Pavilion dv4 Laptop, the keyboard function is permanently changing. this means it goes from the German language option to the English language option automaticly and sometimes I do even get a complete mix up of all the keys. If this occurs I have to restart the computer and after all it was again.

Check the Language setting of your Keyboard in CONTROL PANEL. It needs to be set into "ENGLISH" as a default. Or other way, go to "SYSTEM RESTORE" from the previous date that it was working okay. Thank you.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

CF 27 Change Keyboard US to German

If you are using Windows XP, please do the following:

Step 1: Open Control Panel
Step 2: Go to Regional and Language Options
Step 3: Click on the tab "Languages" on the top
Step 4: Choose "Details"
Step 5: Click "Add"
Step 6: Under Input language choose "German (Germany)"
Step 7: Under Keyboard Layout choose "German"
Step 8: Click "Ok"
Step 9: Under Default input language choose:
"German (Germany) - German"
Step 10: Click "Apply" then Click "Ok".

I would then shutdown the CF27 and when you restart, the keyboard will be in German. That is it.

Keyboard problems

Is the keyboard flexible cable the same pin as the original keyboard? If yes and you are sure the new keyboard is okay, then you can change the language to the preferred language e.g US English, change its position to the first and make it referred. Its should work. You can also check online if there is any keyboard or input driver which when installed can be of help.

Help me convert my Windows Vista OS from German To English

The display language is the language that Windows uses in wizards, dialog boxes, menus, and other items in the user interface. Some display languages are installed by default, and others require you to install additional language files.

Click to open Regional and Language Options.

Click the Keyboards and Languages tab.

Under Display language, choose a language from the list, and then click OK.

Note
If you don't see the list of display languages, you need to install additional language files first. For more information, see Install a display language.

English language support on laptop with German Keyboard

The easiest solution will be to locate a replacement laptop keyboard for that model. they arent hard to replace and usually cost between $40 and $80. I would web search HP Spare parts Third party is usually cheaper. Keyboards are pretty common replacements on laptops due to wear an tear. Most are replaced using a small phillips screwdriver. Its likley you can find removal instructions on the web as well (if they dont come packaged with the keyboard.
