descaling on this machine has to be done manually.
Purchase some descaling packets, fill the water resevoir full and then place a packet in there and stir. The water will usually turn blue at this point.
Next turn the steam wand so that it releases water. Place a large container under the want and let the water release until you see the solution start to come out.
Turn off the system, and wait 10 minutes. Turn the system back on, and release another 2-3 ounces of water and solution from the wand.
Repeat this above til the solution has gone threw the system.
Finally fill the water resevoir twice full with water and turn the steam wand out to let the water come out. Empty 2 resevoirs worth of water to flush your system of the rest of the descaling solution.
Make 2 espresso's and toss them.
Process should be done every 2 to 3 months as recommended by saeco.
Using the menu go to the descale function the add solution to tank and place a large container under steam spout and open knob. You can also use the manual way, check notes below.

- Use the manual at this site, to get into the menu is a little different, because you have to use the lights, instead of a display, the manual is under the files section. groups.google.com/group/espresso_worlds/files?hl=en

Hey, my Saeco Magic Deluxe is having trouble pumping water. A cup of coffen is taking forever, and it doesn't fill it completely. Have been using the machine for years now without a hitch. First time it has given me any problem.
