You are going to need to find the model number under the seat.
Go to www.precisionope.com and look up under OEM parts. You should find a parts list and diagram to route the deck belt.

How do I determine why the blades will not engage on my mower

With the mower turned off and the deck at its lowest setting, check the top of the deck for any debris like rocks or sticks. Then watch the top of the deck while you move the engage lever. If nothing is moving, you either need to adjust the cable, reattach the cable, or install a new cable. If you see the lever with the pulley on it moving, when the engage lever is locked on, check the tightness of the belt. If it's loose, that is your problem and it could be a stretched belt.

Hi and welcome to FixYa I am Kelly.

Maybe I am missing the obvious but I have had a couple of people that had this problem with since new use of a mower. One of them had the wrong blades with the deck and the 2nd one the baldes were installed with the air foil side DOWN. If you have Air-flow problems under your deck the above is possible or your blade deck drive belt is routed incorrectly. The decal for the blade deck belt routing should still be on your deck. Look at the decal drawing vs the actual routing of the deck belt. It is highly possible that one or more of your blades is driving backward.
If you can not find your decal (would be hard not to find it on a deck not 1 year old!), I will try and look it up but I need the model number of mower and the DECK (2 ea model numbers 1 for mower 1 for deck)

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

How to chage belt to blades

If you can get the mower up on some blocks, it would be helpful. Remove the deck pulley guards. Undo the deck front eye links and let the front of the deck hang down. Disconnect the spark plug lead for safety's sake. Turn the belt using the blades as leverage and prise the belt off the engine pulley. The belt should now be clear to remove from the machine. Installation is simply reversing the removal process. After the belt is fitted, it may need adjusting after breaking it in. At the rear of the deck above the pivot plate on the opposite side to the tension spring is a threaded rod with a 14mm nut on it which you turn out for more tension or in for less if the belt drags. It's very hard to get at so give the belt a good run first to let it settle in before taking this step

Install belt on toro mower model 70041

For removing/replacing the deck belt, the general method is:
  1. turn off engine, remove key and set parking brake
  2. disengage blade by putting blade engage lever into off (disengaged) position
  3. lower the cutting deck to the lowest position (closest to the ground)
  4. relieve the belt tension (depending on the model, use a 3/8 inch ratchet set to tighten in the square hole of the idler bracket)
  5. remove and replace the belt
NOTE: it's not necessary to completely remove the cutting deck.

For deck belt diagrams, http://216.213.143.2/ProAuthor/ManProc.cfm?ManualID=425&ProcID=14796

If the transmission drive belt needs to be replaced, several components must be removed and special tools (i.e. air/impact wrench) used in order to change the tractor's transmission drive belt. See an Authorized Toro Service Dealer to have your drive belt replaced.

My john deere lt 133 mower with a double blade mulching deck, 1 blade stopped working and only 1 blade cuts now, how do i fix this. Thanks Patrick

This model mulching deck uses a flat/ribbed serpentine belt that is set at very high tension. When belt breaks under the cover only one blade will turn due to IT being driven from PTO clutch as the other blade being turned from serpentine belt. This deck was Deere's first and last shot at making a true mulching deck and only made it a couple years. When you buy the VERY expensive belt it will come with detailed instructions on how to install it.Goog luck.
