Try it on a differnt connector inside your computer
Is there no clunking sounds?
If it is a second HD does it appear under your operating system?
Boot your operating install software - see if it finds that HD
If it is dead there a re a number of ways of getting to it.... if the data is not massively vital
Tap the HD with your fingers - it may just be jammed
wrap it in a bag and freeze it for about 15 mins
reinstall quickly and try
