Data Transfer; video/pictures via USB data cable

Hi. I have a Sony Ericsson Z520A. I recently got a DCU-60 USB Cable. I've gone to the Sony Ericsson website to down load the following: Sony Ericsson Z520 USB drivers file, I unzipped and followed instructions. When checking, it says the device is working properly. But I have NO idea how to get the video and pictures from my phone to my PC. Can someone please help?

Re: Data Transfer; video/pictures via USB data cable

I had no luck with the SE drivers file. I did however have luck for the pictures(no video)with MyPhoneExplorer which is free software I got on the web. Google it and use the USB cable you have and then at least you can have your photos and a backup for all your other cell phone info.

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!
The Phones T707 uses the same DCU-60 series USB data Cable, You should have been given the cable with a new phone. If not, you can purchase it from here.
And yes, the cable is plugged-in the same port, where the charger pin goes.

I hope you will have a clearer picture now.

Concerned, Nooh.

I have a sony ericsson z520a and love it. The software I use for backing up all of my info is free and it's called MyPhoneExplorer. Google it. I had several problems with the sony ericsson suite that is supposed to allow me to do the same thing. It kept crashing and I had serious problems updating the phone's drivers. I hope this helps.

Use Sony Ericsson's usb data cable(DCU-60) to connect your phone to pc .

When u connect your phone to pc,Select Transfer Mode(mass storage mode) on your phone.

Your computer install your phone automatically and You get a extra drive in your My Computer.

I suggest trying MyPhoneExplorer which is a software developed for backing up SonyEricsson handsets.

Doenload and install it. Then connect your phone to the PC via DCU-60 cable. (It is the gray USB cable provided with the phone.)

Then check the connection settings so that correct connection type is specified. Otherwise your handset will not be recognised.

If your device is recognised, it will start backing up your data. If it is not, I am sorry that I know no other alternatives to back the data up.

Hope this works for you,
