HP Pavilion dv9000 integrated webcam wont work on MSN Live IMer. Nor can I view other contacts webcam's. It pops up and I see my face but they don't see mine, then a minute later it says the webcam session has ended.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My hp pavilion dv9000, or hp pavilion entertainment pcs web cam will not turn on. i cant seem to find out why it wont turn on plz help

Check Control Panel>Devices and Printers. if the camera is installed, you should see the Acer Crystal Eye webcam. if you do not see the webcam, You will have to get the driver from either the web or HP.
If you see the webcam, Double click the webcam icon and click hardware>properties to check for proper operation. if everyting is fine, then the application you are using needs to be looked at.
If the webcam is not working properly according to the device status, right click the webcam icon in the Devices and Printers window and follow the instructions.
Let me know if this solves the problem or if we need to investigate further. Thanks.

Webcam

Go into Preferences for Live. and make the cam the default visual device, also, you may wish to try to reinstall the drivers and software for the webcam. Live has an attitude with these things.

If you did not have Vista with the new laptop then you will certainly need to go to HP's site which is very user friendly and download the Vista drivers for that webcam.
