What is the operating system on your computer.
If it is windows XP, then follow the steps below.
In the bottom right hand corner, in the system tray, you will find the Linksys icon ( it looks like green or white square). Right click on the icon and go to the option " use windows XP" then click Yes on the next window.
It will disable the Linksys utility and enable the windows utility.
If dont see the linksys Icon in the system tray, then it might be using windows utility.
Now go to START ==> control panel ==> network connections==>
Right click on the Wireless network connect and go the option View available wireless networks.
Now you will find your wireless network. choose the network and click conncet. if it is secured then type the network key and you will be able to connect.

I am through which port do i connect the router linksys E900 to my laptop?

It's a wireless router, so you may not need to use a port at all.

You can connect to any of the ports numbered 1 through 4. The yellow Internet port should connect to your outside network. (Cable modem or router or Ethernet port from your Internet service provider.)

I have linksys 2.4 ghz + one 12' line. My new computer is in another room, 32 feet from cable modem how do I connect to internet?

I'm assuming that one computer isn't wife enabled. Depending on where the non wifi computer is located in relation to the router, you will need another either patch cable or a wifi adapter.

After turning the power off for about 1 hour I am unable to connect via my wirless router. I can by pass the router to connect to the internet.

Make sure you update your wireless router firmware..
Use link below to update

http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-ca/wireless/lbc/WRT54G2

Please note:

Linksys is known for alot of problems with there firmwares causing tons for problems ..

I use a linksys wireless router my self & had to unplug the router every 2 to 4 days because it would stop any computers to go on the internet.
I flashed my firmware and put in a 3rd party firmware that has never caused any problems and it gave me tons of features that your linksys firmware did not.

If you are a advanced user you can flash your firmware and put in non-linksys firmware. Not all routers can accept this firmware but you can search up your router model and version to see. Make sure you read all the how to install and all the warnings .. Keep in mind there is a chance no matter if you followed the instructions exactly that it could destroy your router. But the chance is low.

2nd laptop will not connect to internet

I'm assuming that your 2nd laptop is wireless? Does your router have encryption? If it has, then you need to get the encryption key from one of the working computers. Access the linksys interface from one of the working computers. Usually this is done by going to http://192.168.1.1 (leave username blank, password is "admin"). Go to Wireless> Wireless Security. Is encryption selected? If yes, get encryption key #1 and use it on the non-working laptop to connect to the router. If encryption is not enabled, go to the steps below.

On the 2nd laptop, click on the wireless icon at the bottom right part of your screen. Look for the linksys router from one of the available wireless networks, click connect and enter in the encryption key when it asks for it (not case-sensitive. Usually it's 10 or 24 digits). If encryption is not enabled, it will not ask for the encryption keys when you hit connect. See what happens.

Router connections

Is your speedstream router also your high speed modem? If so, you will have to go into the settings on the Linksys and change its IP Address subnet from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.1 (or you can use a different number than 2) You will then need to reboot both routers (and possibly the computers) and try again. The easiest way to get into the Linksys settings is to connect it directly to the laptop via network cable, then type in 192.168.1.1 in the web browser. No user name and admin is default password. (Make sure you change that, and the name of the wireless, and the security settings)
Good Luck!
