Glo-Warm heater shuts off

I have a glowarm heater that I used for one season last year. I've been using it for a bout a week now and this morning when I got up it had shut itself off. I started it back up and when I went into the room it was off again. What do I need to do? There is plenty of air flow. This is an old house and not air tight at all. Thanks for your help.

My Glo-warm heater is two years old and when the burner cuts off during operation the pilot also turns off and has been difficult to relight. It's turned cold here and we really rely on our heater to stay warm. Any help would be appreciated.

I have had the same problem and I think I fixed it. Near the pilot light you have the part that shots the spark (electric ingitor?) behind it is another brass part which I beleive is flame sensor, what I did to fix it is losen the philips screw that holds the two in place then pushed the flame sensor higher so the pilot light hits it more, then just tighten it back up. I hope it helps....

Near to where the fire plate is there is a high temperature limit that is connected by two wires to the pilot millivolt generator. try relocating this limit further away from the flame jet. it too might be faulty - go to desatech dot com for a new limit.

Glo warm wall heater will not stay lit

Hi Cindy,

It seems that your heater is not sensing the flame is lit and is shutting gas supply off. There should be what is called a flame sensor, it is a thin pc. of metal that sticks out into where the flame when lit.

This usually gets charred and dirty, if you unscrew it and clean it with a soft cloth then re-insert it, it will get you by. You should get a new sensor when you have a chance.

Good luck and be sure to disconnect from any power source or turn unit completely off when orking on it.

the first thing I would do is pull it apart and give the bricks a good cleaning with a wire brush to get any soot off. If they are broken beyond the point of replaceing them in the unit you will need new bricks.

First brick burner worn out, can all bricks be replaced?

They can be replaced, go to enerco/Mr.heater as they own Desa and they will hook you up with the parts you need at a fraction of the cost of a retail parts supplier. you can also cal 1-800-251-0001 and talk to a tech.

Natural Gas wall heater

It sounds like the thermocoupler is either not adjusted into the flame properly, or you may have gotten a bad one. The thermocouple is the main thing that makes the pilot work.

Glo warm heater

These are vent-free heaters and use an oxygen-depletion sensor to shut a unit off if there is not a sufficient amount of oxygen available for combustion. It is either doing it's job and you may have to open or crack a window while it's operating.
