Garmin Webupdater not finding internet connection

It's always a good idea to back up your favourites folder before you make any changes to your satnav. You can find details of how to do this at http://www.fixya.com/support/r8422587-backup_restore_favourites_garmin_nuvi

Simply download, install, and run the webupdater from Garmin while the unit is connected. Webupdater can be found here:

There are two solutions to get your Garmin Nuvi 885T running smoothly again. I have posted detailed directions in the Tips section of this Fixya website. Follow these two links to find step by step instructions on how to perform both the hard reset and the software upgrade.

The software upgrade does run independently of the Webupdater, but in regards to your 'slow internet connection' the file size of this Garmin update is almost 50 Mb.

200 feet is not out of the ordinary for "Some" locations.
You do need to update it though using Garmins WEBUPDATER. Get it free here:
