    Thanks Taran

I followed your instructions, but for some reason when i got to system restore there was no restore points saved on my computer. Therefore i could not go back to a previous restore point. Any other suggestions?

    Thanks Baldingwhirl

    Hi Taran

I have read the other instruction and tried to follow through, but the same problem is preventing me to access the control panel! I know i havent touched the UAC and it is always on! I appreciate your help and i need more advice. Can i set the computer back to factory setting and would this help?

    Thanks Baldingwhirl

    Hi Taran.

I appreciate you helping me and im learning more day by day. I have an issue accessing the control panel like i said before and i can not turn the UAC off due to the windows explorer not letting me access it. It continues to say Windows explorer is not working. No matter how many times i restart my computer or try to access the control panel i still get the same result, it wont open. Help!!!

    Thanks Baldingwhirl

Hi,

First and foremost option - Restore.

Go to Start > All Program's > Accessories > System Tools > Restore.

Click and a new window would open. Select the radio button - Choose a different restore point and select any previous date - Suppose 7 days ago.Next, follow the procedure. It would reboot your system. It's all done!!

If problem still persists, let me know.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

    Oh ho,

What i can guess, you might have access some site or downloaded some software that might have damaged Kernel Files. These are nothing but Window files that would help you to access various functions. As Restore option is not there, we are Limited. This might happened due to Adware, Spyware, Virus or any kind of removal or damage to Window's file.

    Let's do one thing :-

Turn User Account Control on or off

User Account Control (UAC) can help you prevent
unauthorized changes to your computer. It works by prompting you for
permission when a task requires administrative rights, such as
installing software or changing settings that affect other users.

We don't recommend turning User Account Control off. If you do turn it off, you should turn it back on as soon as possible.

    CLICK TO USER OPEN ACCOUNT

    1. Click Turn User Account Control on or off. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    2. Select the Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer check box to turn on UAC, or clear the check box to turn off UAC, and then click OK.
    The procedure is :-

    To turn off UAC

    1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

    2. In Control Panel, click User Accounts.

    3. In the User Accounts window, click User Accounts.

    4. In the User Accounts tasks window, click Turn User Account Control on or off.

    5. If UAC is currently configured in Admin Approval Mode, the User Account Control message appears. Click Continue.

    6. Clear the Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer check box, and then click OK.

    7. Click Restart Now to apply the change right away, or click Restart Later and close the User Accounts tasks window.

If problem still persists, We would restore IE. But as of now, try to above one and let me know if that fixed the issue or not.

    Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

    Thanks for your response!!

I know you have not touched it and it's ON. Turn OFF and see if that could fix the issue. There were certain cases where Vista O.S conflict with some software's and applications. That's why i wanted you to Off that and let me know the result.

Unless, there are other options as well but let's try the best options.

    Thanks.

Opps i have not read the complete statement. So, if you are unable to Access user account, we are only left with 2 options :-

    1. Try to repair IE - Follow the below guide :-

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318378

    2. Repair Vista - The same what you asked - You need to have the Original CD. Put it in the disc try. Run Repair.Follow the procedure and it's all done!!

Do check the below tutorial :-

Let me know, if need any further assistance.

    Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

This process will erase ALL data. Your music, email, pictures, documents and other important files will be deleted.
Make a backup of everything you need to keep, before starting Advent Recovery.
To recover your Advent:
As soon as you press the power button on the computer, press F8
You will see an Advanced Boot Options menu screen, select Repair Your Computer
Once the recovery program has loaded, select Reinstall Windows
On the next screen select Start Full Destructive Recovery
Another screen will be shown and you will need to put a tick into the box to start recovery. It will also give you another warning about data loss.
Press the arrow that points to the right and the process will begin automatically
Your computer will take around 30-45 minutes to complete this and can be left to get on with it. Once finished, Windows will be reinstalled and your computer will be just like the day you bought it.

May I know whether the Hard Drive is listed in the BIOS? This issue will occur if the Operating System is corrupted or if the Hard Drive is failed. You can use the Windows disc and reinstall the Windows once. If the reinstallation process is not successful, then you may have to replace the Hard Drive.

Computer will not start.

Well it seems that there may have been wither a compatibility problem or a .dll file has been erased. I suggest removing the recently added device, or any new hardware added see if that changes anything or you may have to reinstall Windows.

How do I reboot vista laptop in order to remove radial point

a reboot is always a last resort!!! a better option to remove a program is to access control manager by pressing ctrl, atl, delete at the same time. when the prompt window is opened look through both processes and services tabs for anything related to the program hit stop process then just go to start>control panel>add/remove program. if that doesnt work restart your computer in safe-mode. if its a vista hit the power button let it rest for a sec then restart it. since the computer was improperly shut down it will ask if you want to start windows normally. don't instead choose start in safe-mode when it starts everything related to radial point will be shut down making it easy to remove the program through control panel. if you still whish to reboot shut down your computer by opening the start menu and in the lower right corner select restart. when the comp. restarts and the logo appears hit f8 quickly (you only have about 5 seconds before it restarts normally) choose boot with disk insert your start up disk and the computer will restart and all non-default programs will be lost. radial point will finally be defeated but at what cause? at what cause!!!??
