Question about HP Color LaserJet 2600n Printer

I have problem with the left side of the page - Color faded

The left side of the page is printing fadely. It is about a haft inch on the left side where we can see the red is more like pink and the blue is liter than it should be. This is my secoind 2600n HP printer I bought and the two manchine did the same thing!

This is a common fault on this model. The solution is to strip out the laser scanner unit. The laser scanner can be reached by removinh the back metal cover of the printer and the controll boards behind it. You need to clean the mirrors inside the laser scanner, for this you can use surgical spirits and cotton ear buds.Hope this helps. Any other queries, you can mail me renierfeldtmann7@gmail.com

Your problem have only one solution - open laser/scaner Assembly carefully and clean all mirrors inside whit dry cloth. Dirty mirrors is the most frequently problem for 1600/2600 series.

    NO, never use cotton ear buds, sometimes they landed some fibers to the mirrors and you will get bad image :)

Color is offset and blurred. There is no problem printing in black. Printing test page shows the same symptoms.

The color of HP LJ 2600n fades due to following reasons
1. the color cartridge near to empty 2. due to dust on reflection mirrors inside the printer
if the color cartridges are OK, then you need help of HP technician support, because cleaning of mirrors is very technical in nature for 2600n.
Dusty Environments can lead to Laser Scanner Contamination. The dust layer on the mirrors prevents proper transmission of the laser output in the imaging system leading to faded colors on the printed page. The initial stages of this failure typically occur in the magenta or yellow color planes as faded or light color. Often the left side is more faded than the middle.
You may need to contact the nearest Authorized Service Tech and get teh Laser Scanner replaced with the new released service part that has a mirror in a location where the dust ideally cannot reach easily.
Also, please ensure that the printer is relocated from the current location to a more dust free zone.

I have Minolta 2300W Laser Printer and it folds the first page only about 3 to 4 inches down makes a nice one inch fold but take that out and print again...next page fine.....now printing with two wide...


The is blocked by dust on the side of the paper on the image unit that would have color associated with the print. Remove all the image units and clean all the laser glass. Replace those image units also if streaking as for the paper ensure correct paper side and media type.

While printing in black middle of page fades out both sides of the page print well. this is about a 1 inch fade out in middle of page.


Replace the drum of the particlular color cartridges. To know which color you have to print in single color one by one. If problem persist then replace transfer belt .

It might be a dirty led assembly. The leds hang down from the top when it is opened.

Page is printed but fade


The toner cartridge is faulty. It is possible that when you pulled out the strip that the whole thing didn't come out. Return the cartridge (with a couple of printed sheets to demonstrate printing) and the receipt and you should get a replacement.

Faded print on one side of page


I have a SCX-4100 Samsung, replaced the tonger cartridge, it was working fine for a few hundred sheets of printing, but after that, the left side of the page was printed very light, faded.
If I run the "Clean Drum", it will print a litter better, but still faded.
What can I do to correct this problem?
