Question about Xerox CopyCentre C20 Black and White Copier

1 Answer

Hi, I have a Xerox DC12. All copies have a black streak along the top (short) edge of A4. About 7mm - right to the edge of the sheet. Initially random black smudges were appearing but now it seems to have gone the the edge of the sheet & always in the same place. Can anyone help?

Yes..you have to clean the developer and the mirror inside...this is what cause the strike to appear...one of these anyway ...its practically a shadow(probably dust or toner) that is seen like something on the initial image and written on...

yes I know ...like I said ..if a matter of physical cleaning inside the printer ..and not a software or setting ...though ..you might check the contrast to not be set at a high level ...I was talking about the printer developer inside...the printer ... ...

Why do I get a thick black line down side of page when copying, but not when I print

Not sure, but one possibility is that your paper you are copying is not all the way to the edge of the copier. If there is a crack along the edge where light from the room can get in it will show up black in those areas. You will see the same effect if you leave the top of the copier off and try to copy something. There could also be something wrong with the scanner arm preventing it from moving all the way to the edge of the window.

Getting black streaks along top and bottom edges of paper sheet when duplexing with hp 8100. Prints beautiful if only one-sided.

Issue with the duplexer... could be as simple as cleaning the rollers and things inside the duplexer.. or could be something major like replacing it.

Don't have a definitive answer.. sorry.

Lines along edge of paper

1 of 3 things I can think of off top of my head.
Since they are straight, I would suspect the transfer unit.
If it were just one color it would be that imaging unit.
Unlikely the fuser.
It doesn't sound line an issue called bar coding ,where the machine prints random lines. That would be a software issue.
Take the transfer unit out and inspect it for the marks.
I am assuming the streaks are on all colors correct?
If it isn't on the transfer belt, and on all colors check the fuser and see if its latched.

DC12 - Yellow Banding (top to bottom)

There is a software patch on the Xerox.com site.
Once there click Support and Drivers.
Once there in the search box enter dc 12
Once to the Support area. Type in Yellow in the search box. That should direct you to the patches.
I hope this helps.
