Soft Reset

Occasionally, you may need to reset your device. A soft (or normal) reset of your device clears all active program memory and shuts down all active programs. This can be useful when your device is running slower than normal, or a program is not performing properly. A soft reset is also necessary after the installation of some programs. If a soft reset is performed when programs are running, unsaved work will be lost.

To perform a soft reset

Use the stylus to press the RESET button found at the bottom of your device. Your device restarts and displays the Today screen.

I hope that helps.

HTC Application Failure, and Phone Shut Off

Sounds like maybe a program corrupted something, my best guess is to just hard reset it. I know its hard losing everything but what the point of saving it if it never works anways. Hold down the power, talk, and end buttons when the phone is off, this should bring up some directions on the screen saying press Volume Up to hard reset the phone.
After thats complete re-download the programs, that should help.
Goodluck!

Hi, I have recently got a HTC Touch 3G phone but no TouchFLO installed. How can I find and download the software?

http://www.ppcgeeks.com is the only site you will ever need for your HTC Touch! (The site was down for maintenance/upgrades at the time of this post, but should be back up shortly.)

Another good one you can check out is http://www.xda-developers.com

These are two excellent Pocket PC Forum Communities with a LOT of info and software for these phones. You'll be surprised how much you can actually do with these phones.

I have two HTC Touch Pros myself :)

I hope this helps :)

Best Regards,

James

Shutdown intermittently

this is a sign that you phone is running out of RAM. Its possible that you have installed software in the RAM drive thus lowering your phone's system RAM. All you need to do is to free up some ram by deleting stuff that you put in the RAM drive. Always save data in the media card drive aka. storage drive.

Does HTC Touch HD have same issue as my TyTN II?

it's right, during a phone call in HTC HD, the screen may shut down but you can easely turt it on again by presseing the on/ off botton once.

for touch pro, am not sure but it seems to be the version came after HTC HD, so all the problems in HTC HD should be solven in Touch pro.

HTC Touch HD restart problem

Check the battery connection, if the battery is loose/moves around when you touch it with your finger, try putting a piece of paper on top, or the side, or which ever way it moves. So the battery will still touch the battery contacts. If this isn't the case, try doing a hard reset. Go to start>settings>system>clear storage. (It's like this in my htc diamond, not sure about the touch HD, but should be same) which will erase all data/contacts. Make sure you sync your contacts to your pc to save them!
