My computer is recognising video files on my harddrive as audio files even though the properties of the files on the harddrive show that they are saved as video files.this happens on windows media player I cant get them to play with real player at all.

Hi simontwaley,

Try to download VLC Player. It might resolve the issue. You can download it from www.videolan.org.

The issue that your encountering is because your media player lacks those codecs that needs to be installed for you to be able to view those files. It is a common issue for almost all windows OS that doesnt have those codecs.

VLC Player can play almost all of the types of video files. Without installing those codecs.
