Question about GE WSXH208A Front Load Washer

Right side suspension strut broke off, drum fell down and gasket popped off. Have new strut, but whats best way to install

    front gaskest also popped of. Any tricks to putting it back on

Get your self a blanket and a mop
disconnect everything hoses drains plugs
lay out the blanket
put the machine on the blanket
take off the back 16 screws i believe
tip it on ints side to a 45 degree angle good side is the pivot side
now you can easily manipulate the bad strut.

bevery careful its a very heavy machine once tipped have a spotter

    ok the boot should be fairly obvious how it goes back on, i mean position wise, if you look at the boot you will see on the inside where the lip of the tub sits, start at the top, i believe it has a diamond cut out, anway slip the water line into the cut out, place the diaqmond at 12 and the slowly work your way around the boot like a tupperwafre top

    put the plastic clip on before you start , whe n your done slide it up into position and tighten

I have a 05 Scion XB We replaced the front left axle because it broke at the nut/bolt on outside of axle. It broke again and we replaced again.

check that the axle you replaced it with is the correct length for that side ( left and right axles are different lenghts)
what you have described indicates that the axle is too short for that side and is coming out of the seal
check for suspension ball joint problems or strut failure that allows the cv joint to be out of position when turning the steering wheel
it may require that the vehicle is repaired by an accredited repairer

Washing machine Spinning cycly drum wobbles noisy

It sounds like one or both of the suspension struts has either broken or come away from it's mounting. Inside the washing machine there are a couple of concrete blocks used to counter balance the motion of the drum when it is turning. The suspension struts (just like a cars) dampen the effect so that the machine does not wobble all over the place. The struts (two normally) are firmly anchored to the washing machine chassis at the bottom and the other ends are attached to the drum itself, usually on either side. Check that these struts are not damaged and that the mounting bolts etc. are not loose or missing.

How to replace oil pan gasket

1994-96 VEHICLES

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
It may be necessary to remove the hood, with the help of an assistant, for access.
  1. Remove the engine mount strut and A/C compressor (if equipped) and the engine mount strut bracket assemblies.
  2. Remove the electric cooling fan assemblies. -28467 and J 26462, or equivalent.
  3. Raise and safely support the vehicle. Drain the engine oil.
  4. Remove the front exhaust manifold pipe.
  5. Remove the intermediate shaft bolt/screw.
  6. Remove the oil level sensor.
  7. Remove the engine splash shield.
  8. Suitable support the drivetrain and front suspension with jack stands.
  9. Remove the transaxle mount side frame retaining nuts from the drivetrain and suspension frame assembly.
  10. Remove the engine mount side frame nuts from the drivetrain and suspension frame assembly.
  11. Unfasten the rear drivetrain and front suspension frame bolts/screws.
  12. If equipped, remove the lower drivetrain and front suspension frame bolts/screws.
  13. Remove the engine mount assembly.
  14. Remove the flywheel inspection cover.
  15. Remove the starter.
  16. Disconnect the transaxle mount assembly from the oil pan.
  17. Unfasten the side bolts and screws and the retaining bolts and screws, then remove the oil pan. Remove and discard the oil pan gasket.
To install:
  1. Clean the gasket mating surfaces.
  2. Apply a small amount of sealer on either side of the rear main bearing cap, where the seal surface on the cap meets the cylinder block. Install a new gasket on the oil pan.
  3. Position the oil pan and secure with the retaining bolts and screws. Tighten the retaining bolts and screws to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm) and the side bolts/screws using tool J 39505 or equivalent.
  4. Fasten the transaxle mount assembly to the oil pan.
  5. Install the starter motor.
  6. Install the flywheel inspection cover.
  7. Install the engine mount assembly.
  8. Carefully raise the drivetrain and front suspension assembly. Install the rear drivetrain and front suspension frame bolts/screws.
  9. Fasten the engine mount frame side nuts to the drivetrain and front suspension frame assembly. Install the transaxle mount frame side nuts to the drivetrain and suspension frame assembly.
  10. Remove the jackstands from the drivetrain and front suspension frame assembly.
  11. Install the engine splash shield and the oil level sensor.
  12. Install the intermediate steering shaft bolt/screw. Connect the front exhaust manifold pipe.
  13. Carefully lower the vehicle.
  14. Remove the engine support tools.
  15. Install the electric cooling fan assemblies.
  16. Install the engine mount strut and A/C compressor, bracket and the engine mount strut bracket.
  17. If removed, install the hood assembly.
  18. Fill the crankcase to the correct level. Connect the negative battery cable. Run the engine to normal operating temperature and check for leaks.

Does the jeep liberty have both shocks and struts ? I have uneven tire ware on right side of Jeep the outside edge of tire both front and back on right side

it has struts in front and shocks in rear have a professional do a front end alinement and check strut and shock perfomence they may have to road test.

One of the three suspension legs supporting the washer drum has broken. This model is prone to this. I had mine serviced before the warranty expired and the service guy showed me how to do it. Much the same as replacing a worn shock on a car, the front panel of the washer is held in place by two hex screws that can be accessed by 'popping' the top panel of the washer unit. Once the screws are removed, you can then access the whole unit by disconnecting the wiring loom and the internal water hoses. Sometimes if the suspension leg isn't broken, you can screw it in place and secure it with a screw. This is what the service guy did, but it came loose in a few months. There is a new kit that replaces the old suspension legs but I haven't ordered it so I can't comment.

Was there a recall on 2002 mercury sable front coil springs before,my tire went flat and i was gona change it then noticed that it wasnt a small puncture but that the coil spring broke off and punctured it...

Your front suspension is a McPherson struts assembly type.
Maybe I do not have the right english wording to satisfy the purists but roughly the complete strut assembly unit at the bottom is attached to the knuckle by two strong bolts and at the top to the vehicule frame by 3 nuts on studs. The coil spring you're talking about is mounted and compressed between the strut assembly base support bracket/seat and the top plate of the assembly. By the way, the built in shock absorber is the component you see going from the bottom to the top trough your coil spring. To remove the coil spring or replace the strut itself you have to compress the coil spring using a coil spring compressor tool. It a relatively dangerous process for beginners because the coil spring is under important tension.
If you plan to keep your vehicule several years have your coil springs replaced by new one. In this case I would suggest to change both for an even behaviour of your vehicule. The main reason they broke is their aging but mostly due to bad shock absorbers (struts) so by the same time have new struts installed. For coil springs, struts parts and labour it could cost you $1,000 and more to have it replaced (both sides) depending on where you have your mecanic done.

If you don't plan to keep your vehicule on a long term, I suggest to get a complete used struts assembly for this side (includes struts and coil spring) at a scrap yard for $125 and less and have it installed for approx. 1 hour and less of labour time. It could be a cheap solution.

Do not have new tire installed before you fix it otherwise you will scrap the internal structure of you tire.

Shocks and/or struts worn out

The rear air bags are probably blown, or an air line broke. The lincoln air bag systems can be expensive to repair, about $300 a side for the bags if i remember correctly. Aftermarket companies make replacement springs, getting rid of the air bag all together and at a more reasonable price. A google search will point you in the right direction to aquire parts for either direction you chose to go.

2002 gmc envoy front suspension noise

the clunking or rattle sound is actually coming from the end links on the anti sway bar. You won't hear it on the bumper test. Good luck.
