Ipod wont restore caution sign with slash going thru circle, also itunes wont recognize ipod and try sleep mode dm mode nothing . plz help

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and Volume Down button simultaneously for at least eight seconds or until the Apple logo appears. You may need to repeat this step.
If the above step did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep. Try resetting the iPod while it is connected to power.

You need to restore your iPod from Disk mode:
  1. Before placing the iPod into disk mode, you should verify that it is charged.
  2. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Set it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  3. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears.

  5. Connect the iPod to your computer; the screen on the iPod will change and say "Do not disconnect"
  6. Open iTunes.
  7. After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
  8. Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.
  9. Click Restore.
Hope that helps.
Cheers.

To RESTORE IPOD To update or restore iPod classic: 1 Make sure you have an Internet connection and have installed the latest version of iTunes from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/?ipod 2 Connect iPod classic to your computer. 3 In iTunes, select iPod classic in the source list and click the Summary tab.
