Try a forced cold boot -- hold down thepower button for about 30 seconds. If it doesn't work, you have lost your application. You will probably have to reload the software. The intenal battery (it's actualy a capacitor) will only hold internal memory for about 15 minutes without the battery in the device -- after that anything in RAM memory is gone. Contact your hardware vendor

The Motorola MC9090 can have different keypads attached. If you do change the keypad for any reason for example go from a 53 key to 43 key layout the terminals must be cold booted.
To cold boot an MC9090 running Windows Mobile 5. Partially remove the battery, hold down the On/Off button, the trigger and reinsert the battery. When the orange light on the keyboard flashes release the on/off button and the trigger.
If the on/off button or trigger is held down longer than required this occasionally causes the terminal to get caught in a warm boot cycle
If the device is still not giving the correct key output it may have a faulty keypad.
