Question about Apple iTunes
Recently, every time i try to access the store homepage, on the rare occasion it actually works i keep getting an extremely simplistic version which is slow and laggy and looked like it had been thrown together by a blind duck in the late stages of dementia. most attempts to access other links freeze up halfway or a message appears saying that itunes could not complete request. networking is not the issue as all troubleshooting tests were passed, so it seems like a problem on apple's end. any advise would be helpful.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Check your firewall, enable it if it's stuck off. And also check your virus and malware programs, it sounds fishy if you can connect to every other site sounds like someone set it so you can't get in, check your security settings also

If you have any firewalls ie mcaffee or norton or zonealarm then you will need to allow itunes access to the internet.
The article above explains a lot of options also if you have a router you could try and open all the ports for outgoing traffic and incoming to start with and see if that helps - if it does then you could try and port forward ( open the ports ) for ports 80 and 443

un install all your firewalls completely for the time being ( you only need one so I dont see why you have norton installed - personally I would just get rid of norton as norton anything is rubbish !! )
Disable windows firewall as well and un install itunes and download the latest version and then re install using the latest version and try again.
Also if you have a router try and port forward ports 80 and 443.
If you post back with your make and model of router I can help you as best as possible to do this.

SOURCE: unknown error occurred (306)
some people have been doing this
Launch Internet Explorer
Click the Tools menu
Select Internet Options
Click the Connections tab
Click the LAN Settings button
Make sure that that "Use a proxy server for your LAN" checkbox is unchecked
Click OK till you are out of everything, and then close Internet Explorer
Try again in iTunes to load the store
do a google search for "itunes error 306" for other discussion boards on the topic, seems to have occured after an itunes update conflicting with OS (go figure right?)...hope this helps =)
