Question about Panasonic TH-50PV30 50 in. Plasma Television
My tv is 3 yr old and has started switching to standby everytime its switched on, gets picture, sound etc fine for about 40 seconds then switches off to standby, you can do this all day and everytime its switched on it works for up to a minute and shuts down again.. read somewhere it may be dust build up affecting the fan and its closing down due to safety mode, does this sound right to anyone as i dont want to open it up unless im sure cleanin it out will help.
It is most likely some bad capacitors on the power supply board that are causing it to go into "safety mode" and shuts it down.

Hi, you did not say how many times the red led flashes. This is an important clue as to where the problem might be. On some 6th generation plasmas, a regulator in the power supply could cause that problem and had to be replaced with an improved version.

SOURCE: tv keeps switching itself off
When that happens - try unplugging the tv for a few minuets & plug it back in.. Sometimes it will reset its self.. Or it could be a bad sercut or maybe a falty power suply.. Electronics is usually process of illimination - unfortunately..

If your TV keeps turning itself off, I would advise firstly
checking the power cable connected to the back of the unit to make sure it is
Please also disconnect everything from the TV apart from thee power cable as it may an external device that is causing the problem.
If there are touch buttons on your TV, make sure they are not touching anything and they are clean.
Remove the batteries from your remote control as this could also be turning the TV off.

SOURCE: problem with panasonic tv
It is usually caused by problems from lead solder that sometimes does not connect, so there are some points of the components that are not connected with lead solder to the circuit. if it appears vertical line means from the IC (integrated circuit ) Vertical, you can solder all the points in the IC ( Integrated circuit ).
