Most drivers now come as executables. They will normally unzip themselves to their own folder. The executable file will then install what it needs to install where it needs to install them.

I am unable to activate the wireless aspect of my Thinkpad T41.

The wireless card is automatically activated when the correct wireless card driver is installed.
The same model ThinkPadcan have different types of network, video and audio drivers and unless youknow exactly which one is installed in your ThinkPad, you need to download allthe drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver. When you download thedrivers, write down the device driver and it's file name so you have a recordof which driver you are installing and which directory the unzipped files arelocated on your hard drive. Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEBsite - support/download page and download the latest Windows XP or Vista devicedrivers for your model computer, Use this link: - http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=%2Fproductselection%2Flandingpages%2FbrowseByProductLandingPage.vm&sitestyle=lenovo&brandind=10&validate=true You can download thevarious drivers and then you click on and run the various driver files, theywill then unzip and expand into a sub folder on C:\drivers Then install thevarious drivers from this folder (run the set-up file).

How to activate wifi for ibm laptop thinkpad T40 type 2373. is it in-built wifi? Do i have to press any button or automatically captures wifi signalonce in wifi zone?

Your T40 may not have a built-in wireless card.
There is no button to activate the wireless card. If there is a wireless card and the wireless card driver has been installed, then the wireless icon will be displayed on the Task bar.
Check Device Manager and look for the wireless network device, if it has a yellow ? against it then the driver needs to be installed. If no wireless network device is displayed then there is no wireless card installed.

Cannot connect to internet- ethernet card not recognized

If the ethernet card is not recognized, then possibly the wrong LAN driver was installed.

I want to transfer files from an old desktop running Windows 98SE to a new laptop running Windows Vista Home Basic. I have bought a Maxell 2Gb memory stick: gone to the Maxell eu site and downloaded - as...

It should be unzipped and path to the unzipped folder provided while installing new hardware, when Windows (after plugging in the stick) finds a new plug&play device and asks for the location of drivers.

Also, go to your newer computer and check the USB stick's drive properties - it should be formatted using the FAT or FAT32 file system. If it's formatted using NTFS, Windows 98SE will not see it.

Good luck!

I had the same problem. After I removed the SD card and turned off and on the power switch on the back of the unit, the system software was upgraded from 1.1.8 to 1.1.9.x.

You can check by going into the navigation module and then clicking system information.
