Burnt CD reading for Pioneer DEH-P1Y

I have a Pioneer DEH-P1Y stereo and it doesn't seem to matter what burnt CD i put in, none of them will read. Bought CD's seem to work fine. I have tried MANY mp3 discs (burnt on different brand discs, some by media player, some by Roxio both in Jukebox and Data format, both finalized and unfinalized), as well as burnt audio cd's. The most common error message is Error 12 which the book says is either Dirty Disc, Scratced Disc, or Electrical or Mechanical. Even brand new CD's with no scratches or dirt do it. I bought a CD cleaner and ran that through (it seemed to run through OK and played all the tracks). I'm pretty sick of spending money on lots of different CD's and spending way too much time playing with different burns. I would like to know if there is anything else that I can do to make burnt CD's play it or whether it's a lost cause...
Cheers!!

Some manufacturers set their products up so that copied cd's won't work, used to have a pc that did the same, it's to do with how the info is laid on the cd itself. So depending on the spacing of data, some lasers just won't read the information. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news :(

Hi, I have a pioneer DEH-P5500MP which always worked just fine but now when there is no cd in the radio it won't play so i try the source button but that doesn't work so i put a cd in and it starts...

It sounds like you may have a bad switch. If you have a multimeter you can check the switches for resistance. If the reading on any of the switches is less than a few megaohms it is probably bad.

Pioneer sa-1050 2 burnt resistors, cannot read

where exactly are these resistors located? any idea about the circuit board resistor numbers? sometimes burnt resistors do not go completely bad and is still possible to measure their values. why not take them out and try measuring their values. otherwise u have to b very specific about the rsistor numbers

When yuo put a cd in the cd player it reads error 11 what is error 11 and how do you fix it?

Some Head units (cd players) dont like to play burnt discs. I love pioneer (deh-p6000ub)and that is all I use for head units, and sometimes, depending on how you burn the, they wont play. Make sure to use windows media player to burn your files, that might help. If you are using regular store bought cds, then you might need a new head unit, it might be an internal problem.

Have the DEH-P2900MP has cut out since day 1 and now wont come on at all. any suggestions

If it was powered wrong the first day, you could have a burnt trace on circuit board. Look where power terminal comes in (red 12v) and solder a wire bridge over the burnt trace.

CD's won't play on Home & Car stereo after Burning

I may add alot of times older equipment has a hard time reading burned cd's because when ever burning cd's the pits that are burnt into the cd are shallow. The faster the cd burns the more shallow it is... one thing you can try to do is burn at 2x in the WAV format cause it most diffenately will not read mp3 format being that old equipment. You may get lucky burning at 2x because the pits that it burns in the cdrom will be deeper. As the clarification said do use CD-R's. If this doesn't work at 2x chances are that equipment is just not going to be able to read a burnt cd period. Good Luck!!! I hope this works for you!!!

Pioneer DVR-109 DVD±RW...

This ahs to with speed of recording of the CD/DVD try reading CD/DVD burnt at a lower speed like 16x.

Most DVD writers has low maximum reading speed as compared to CD-ROMs.

You can try burning a CD on it and then reading it, if reads then it shows that other cd were burnt at faster speed than it can read.

If it read lower speed CDs then you can just add an additional DVD/CD-ROM just to read faster speed disks.
