Re: lens canon 28-135 IS

This lens opens from the rear. The trim ring inside the mount must be removed and the electronic connector separated from the mount by removing the 2 small screws at the mount edge. You can then remove the mount itself. The electronics board is the next item to remove. Make careful notes on the connections as the can get reversed easily. Not sure how far you need to get into this piece, but this will get you inside.

Need to open Lens?

1. Front Lens Cap- press the two side taps in and pull out.
Rear Lens Cap- twist and pull out.

2. Remove and Repair: Small Phillip Screwdrivers, gloves and mask.

From the rear, the electrical contacts- remove all those
screws. Some screws are locked with clue. Pinch black
plastic ring that is part of those contacts and gently remove out.
Don't brake the electrical contact ribbon cable.

Good lock.

How to lens disassemble canon 50mm macro 2.5

Just one page of a repair manual from Canon. Just to ask yourself if you understand how to adjust a lens. If you can't make up anything from this, it is not worth buying a repair manual for this lens, because bringing it to a certified Canon repair shop will be cheaper. And the result 1000 times better.
Opening a lens is no problem. Putting it together so you can use it as sharp as it should be, needs special tools and special skills.

I have a canon powershot SD850 was dropped accidentaly and its not starting n says lens error restart to fix it??

Very difficult to repair at home due to having to remove most of the camera insides to get to the lens mechanism. The lens then needs to be opened in a dust free enviroment and repaired. Your best bet is a local independent repair shop.

Canon 24-105 lens. Manual focus ring is stuck, does not turn, auto focus works fine. Thanks, Mark

Place the lens on the palm of your hand and tap to see if any dirt comes off.Use a pressure air to blow into the gaps to see if the jam can be released off. If not your will need to open to clean and release.

My Canon EFS 17-85 MM is locked at the 17 MM position (although it doesn't have a "locked" feature. What is the problem?

Try taking the lens off AF mode and manually turning it and trying to focus. If that doesn't help then it sound like you have an internal fault.
