I received a new camera for an early Christmas present and installed its software (the driver and media gallery it came with) and when I plugged it into my computer via a USB cable the computer simply did not detect that it had been plugged in. I searched for the device but the computer did not pick it up. However, when I accidentally pressed 'PC Cam' it worked perfectly well as a web cam. Can you help? Thanks

- did what you said. i think the problem may be with the driver i was supplied with as it does not install properly. i just don't know how to get it to install properly! When i plugged the camera in normally it makes a noise to recognise it. whenever i plug in the camera it doesn't so i don't know what's wrong! my computer meets all the requirements so i'm puzzled. thanks for trying though. does anyone else have any ideas?Same Problem

- Camera works fine as webcam but the driver for mas storage is not installing. Its works fine on anothe vista machine same make and model.If some know where i can find the .inf files for this camera please.- durkpotgiete

- I've got the same problem on my Samsung L200 camera...and I consider myself a pretty technical guy when it comes to this sort of stuff...I've got a clean install of windows xp pro, fully up to date with windows updates, a fresh install of the drivers/samsung software, and when i plug my camera into the USB port, nothing happens.
I've tried this on another computer as well, running vista, with no luck.
any suggestions? I'm at my last ropes on this camera...it takes a decent picture and works well, easy to shoot and all, but not being able to do anything with the pictures makes it completely useless.

the first suggestion may sound silly - but, check if the computer has a usb2.0 port. and on the camera box, minimum system requirements should be posted - comfirm that your computer meets those minimums.
try uninstalling using 'add/remove programs' in your control panel, and reinstall the program that came with the camera. Then restart the computer
