I understand that you want to know how to remove the cover on your Frigidaire microwave, model# FGMV205K. There are two different covers that you are able to remove for access to two different light bulbs.
If you are trying to change the Microwave Oven Light for inside your microwave:
1)To replace light bulb, first disconnect power to your microwave oven at the circuit breaker panel or by unplugging it.
2)Remove the louver by removing the three Hood Louver Screws.
3)Push in the upper tabs and pull the louver away from your appliance.
4)Remove the light bulb and replace with a new 20 watt light bulb. DO NOT USE BULB LARGER THAN 20 WATTS.
5)Close the Oven Light Cover by carefully pushing into place. Push the louver back into place (engaging both the bottom and top tabs) and change to hood Louver Screws.
If you are trying to change the light bulbs underneath your Microwave:
1)To replace light bulbs, first disconnect power to your microwave oven at the circuit breaker panel or by unplugging it.
2)To open Light Cover, remove the screw on the light cover.
3)Replace the light bulbs with new 20 watt light bulbs. DO NOT USE BULBS LARGER THAN 20 WATTS.
4)Close the Light Cover and secure with screw removed at step 2.
If further troubleshooting is needed, I ask that you please let me know the error codes displayed on your appliance. Hope this is helpful.
Unplug the
microwave. Remove the lamp cover by unscrewing the mounting screws.
Turn the bulb to tightly screw it in. Then plug the microwave back in
to test the light. If the bulb still will not illuminate, it is likely
broken or defective. Replace it with another 20 to 40 watt appliance
bulb.
Generally you have to take the cover off the whole microwave.
Unplug the unit and find the screws that hold the cover on, underneath and around the sides and unscrew them.
Lift the cover off.
The bulb holder can then be seen. Some holders slide off a peg for easy access, others may have to be detached from the housing via screws.
The bulb is normally a small edison screw type on most microwaves.
remove the vent cover on the top of the unit above the door
two srews should be holding it down from the top
slide the vent off
you should see a mtal plate
remove that and the buld should be underneath
when that happen to me i change the bulb and the fuse in of the microwave f the don't work send it to the company that made it and they should tell what wrong.
We replaced the board behind the control panel. $130.00. If you do this make sure you can put the wires back the right way. My husband finally got it and our micro is working like brand newThanks to all who tried to help.
first remove mains cord from main power. and remove the microwave oven top cover and check the bulb and crefully remove the old bulb and put new bulb. at high voltagae section dont touch any thing ,that area very dangerous ,thats why very carefully work inside the microwave oven ..
The turn table and fan are connected in series with the bulb,as you have mentioned that you have replaced bulb,so please check again for any loose contact on bulb holder or bulb continuity again.
