Epson stylus cx3810 won't pull paper in

My printer grabs the paper and pulls it in a little bit. when I pull the paper out the bottom right corner is a little crinkled. I have not used the printer very much, 60 pgs max. I turned the printer upside down and shook it in case something fell into it somehow. The paper is new, same stuff I have always used. If it's a mechanical problem how do I get to the problem.

SOURCE: Printer Grabs corner of the paper and jams

Had the same problem, after reading this thread I hold it upside down and a quarter popped out!!!

I told my wife it was not necesary to put coins in the printer for it to work (joke, I probably threw it in by mistake).

It is a design flaw of the printer, things fall inside because people (including me) leave things on top of the scanner cover, which happened next to the paper feeder.

When the paper is fed it is pulled in w/ the bottom right side of the paper going in but not the left side, it becomes uneven and ends up jamming - what would be the reason it would grab and pull the right...

The most likely cause of the problem is an obstruction on the left side of the paper path - most likely a shred of paper from a previous jam. You can estimate where to look by how far the paper goes in before it starts to twist to the side. Sometimes I've had to use a dental pick to snag a shred buried deep inside as an alternative to dismantling the printer. You may find it helpful to use a small mirror to look underneath or behind rollers while you search for the culprit.

Another possibility is one side of a dual pickup roller (two rollers on a single shaft) is worn out. That is unlikely; except for large format units most printers use a single pickup roller.

Got paper jammed pulled it out but now won't work tries but then red flashing and makes a bit of noise

-To clear a paper jam near the paper tray, grip the paper and pull it firmly but gently from the printer. If you find a stack of papers jammed, grab from the middle of the stack and pull.

-For a rear jam, remove the back of the printer. When you find a free edge on the paper, grip it firmly and pull it out.

-Press the "Resume" button or turn off the printer, and then turn it back on. Your settings should reset.

This was a long time ago but I hope you havent bought a new printer

You were right to think about uninstalling the printer, but you will have to follow the EPSON instruction to do it completely. I had a similar problem with mine.

Epson stlus C88+ printer: paper pulled to one side during printin

Hi

Chances are the sensor for grabbing the paper on the left hand side is defective. Try to check if there are obstructions as well

Hope this helps

Paper jam

My CX3810 started doing the very same thing. To solve the problem, I un-plugged the printer, turned it upside-down (while holding the scan-bed cover closed) and shook the printer vigorously for a few seconds. Lo and behold, a small, white finishing nail, a peanut and a ball of fluff fell out of the slot where the paper loads. I sat it down, plugged it back in.... works flawlessly again. Hope this helps.

Epson 3810

look in and around where the paper is fed into.there maybe a small piece of paper stuck somewhere inside. if you do see something, unplug the machine and try to pull it out with a pair of needle nose pliers. if you do get the obstruction out, try feeding the paper back in and see if it now works.
good luck.

Printer Grabs corner of the paper and jams

I had the same problem and what I finally noticed was that something had falled off the shelf above and lodged itself way up in the paper feed slot. It was basically invisible at first and produced the exact symptoms that you described. Unplug, hold upside down and give it a good shake. It's worth a shot.
