My huawei 5830 only works when is connected into the laptop, but when i try on wireless it says i dont have an ip add and i cant get one

Have you configured the Wireless settings and also DHCP settings of your device?

Also, the TCP/IP network settings for the wireless connection on your laptop should be to obtain IP address automatically (which is default).

I'd suggest going to the following webpage where configuration is described step by step. Ignore the mobile network settings, as they are specific to the mobile network used, and are correct in your case, since you can work using wired connection. Concentrate on the DHCP and Wireless Basic & Security settings. The choices shown are for WPA2 encryption and are the best to use. For a pre-shared key (passphrase) use something hard to guess. I would also suggest changing the SSID (name of your wireless network) to something less obvious.
Once you've done the configuration and saved it, disconnect the device and try to find on your laptop the wireless network with the name (SSID) you configured, and connect to it.

When you look at the Manage Network Connections link on the Network and Sharing Center you do not see
Local Area Connection?
Do you see Wireless Network connection?
You need to check the device manager to see if the card has been disabled.

It should show two entries with no red or yellow marks. One for wireless (WLAN) and one for wired (Ethernet)

Hi just installed router on my laptop, works fine but my desktop can't find it,why

Is your desktop wired or wireless.
If it wired then check the wired connection and make sure that you have proper light on the router. Suppose your computer is connected to the port 2 on the router, then you have port 2 light on the router.
If your computer is wireless then try to search for the wireless network and check if you can see the wireless network.
If you have windows XP, then try to use windows XP utility to connect to the network.
Fort windows Vista and 7 , you will find icon in the bottom right hand corner. Use that icon to connect to the network.

What is the Operating system on the laptop ?
If it is XP then in the bottom right hand corner you will find Wireless network connection ( looks like 1 computer monitor). Use that icon to connect to the wireless network.
If it is windows Vista, then in the bottom right hand corner you will find 2 computer monitor icon. Use that icon to connect to the wireless network.
If it is Windows 98/ME/2000 then use the adapter utility to connect to the wireless network.
For MAC you will see the AIRPORT icon at the top.

Check the wireless settings of the router first . Make sure that yopu have all the wireless settings of the router. If you are not sure about the settings, then open the router set up and check the settings.

No network code for router want to connect my laptop to it

Hello friend,
i guess that you are talking about wireless code, in this case you will need to connect the laptop to the router via Ethernet cable to configure it and then unplug the cable and use the wireless.
so you connect the ethernet cable between the laptop and one of the ports on the router from 1 to 4. then access to the router web interface which is usually 192.168.1.1. then go the wireless tab and name your wireless access point and put a password to secure your network. After that you can unplug your Ethernet cable and use the wireless on your laptop to connect your router wirelessly.
Best Regards,

Internet Connection Problem on One Computer

By any chance, are you trying to use something other than Windows to manage the wireless adapter? If you are, remove it.

Now, Click on Start, right click on Network highlight properties, and click on manage network connections on the Tasks menu.
Your two options will be the icons for your LAN and Wireless Network. Is it enabled and without red or yellow marks? It could be disable, it could be not connected and you can't view wireless networks because the switch is off, or it may just nut see your unsecure network (unlikely).

If the above is clear, right click on the wireless and highlight Properties and left click so it brings up the Networking tab. Highlight IPv4 and click on Properties. Make sure the Obtain dots are ticked. That should work, since you are running unsecured.
If it already is, check the red X or if it isn't click OK and close down the box.

Now, back to where your Wireless card is showing, right click it and you have Disable, Connect/Disconnect, Status, Diagnose etc.

If you're still Disconnected but not Disabled, click on Connect/Disconnect. Does it show your wireless network?

By this time, it should. If it doesn't post back. The other possibility is that you take your computer to a wireless internet cafe, McDonalds, Panera Bread, or motel with WiFi and test it there.
