    ECS MCP61PM-HM drivers sound

  • IddiKlu Aug 16, 2008

I have now had a no-sound problem on the fourth MSI motherboard. The last one is a K9N SLI V2. The previous were 2 - P35 Platinum Combos (Intel) and one K9N GM4-F V2. All drivers installed from the CD, but when checking sound in control panel, it shows that the hardware hasn't been installed.
I installed separate sound cards in each, but am getting tired of that. MSI support seems oblivious to the problem, - no help there.
There are no jumpers on the sound pins (for transferring the sound to front connectors). But the manual doesn't show that any are needed (or where).
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!

Can I get new Audio drivers for my PC ? These must have been wiped off after a recent re install of Windows

Hi,
what version of Windows are you running? If it was re installed you should have the basic MS sounds. Do you have access to Sound in your control panel?

If you have a specific sound card installed then best go the the manufacturers web site for the latest drivers.

(2).In the Device Manager dialog box, expand Sound, video, and game controllers.
(3). Right-click the device, and click Scan for hardware changes.

4. Microsoft's Windows Update feature : If there are no updated sound drivers available, use Microsoft's Windows Update feature. Connect to the Internet and try the following items until Windows Update opens:
