Did you boot up successfully after the bios update?
If not then that is most likely the cause. If the bios update is interrupted before it completes, the will not load successfully. If that happens there is no back up for the bios. You will need to physically remove the bios chip and replace it with another.

As far as the plane trip there are no conditions specifically related to the pressurized cabin of an aircraft that would be harmful to a laptop.

Although It's unlikely it is possible that the bios had an issue that did not surface immediately after the update.
Most of the time even with a shorted motherboard some components will initialize, for instance the hard drive or system beep alerts. If you hear nothing then chances are it's the bios. Without that the motherboard doesn't even know it's a motherboard.
Hope this helps

On the motherboard you can remove or short the battery backup of the CMOS (the chip that holds the software part, which is called the BIOS). This will reset the BIOS to factory defaults.

Helo, i have updated the bios on asus p532n-e sli premium, and after instalation the sistem won't turn on.pls this is urgent. a nice day

Hi,

Hi,

According to your problem first check the bios update. Check that you have updated the bios properly. Run the motherboard in updated bios, so reset the bios. This may occur for another cause also. So check the electric outlet where the system is being plugged. Make sure that the SMPS is OK and compatible with motherboard. If the SMPS fulfil the minimum requirement of the pre updated motherboard then updated bios may not support. Check that you have installed the SMPS power cable in your motherboard properly. It will help you.

Toshiba Satellite A-105-4384 installed its own BIOS password and has locked me out of my laptop.

Hello
To remove the bios password you will need to look for J1 jumper on the motherboard, unlike desktop motherboards with traditional jumpers this jumper is flat on the board are look like two copper pads that do not touch in the center you will need to take a paper clip and short it. Most of the time in most toshiba notebooks it is in the same area as the RAM next to it will say j1
Or
he Password can be removed via the printer port
What you need is a password removal tool, It removes the Bios and start-up passwords.
It costs about £5.00. Easy to build but it costs more to put the kit together.
I think you were quite hard on the assistance.

People here are just trying to help. At least appreciate that!

L350-170, Updated bios driver, note book shutdown, now won,t start up. no screen nothing. any resolution to fix this?

Sounds like your BIOS update didn't Flash correctly. They usually give warnings at a website about the dangers\risks of updating your BIOS. Usually if the BIOS update didn't go well, then your computer, or the motherboard at least, is just a paper weight. Do you get any lights to light-up at all when pressing the power button. If so, then you have a chance of re-flashing your BIOS and maybe it will do it correctly the second time.

I have an Toshiba A215 and cant remember the admin password how can I unlock the system to change my password. I have a toshiba satellite a215-7417 and need to reset bios. I heard something about shorting...

Do not attempt to short out the jumpers on your own. As simple as it is, you can also kill the board. Also, the RTC battery will not effect the BIOS password. Take it in to the nearest Toshiba ASP center and they will reset the BIOS password as well as update it to the latest BIOS revision to avoid it from happening again UNDER WARRANTY. You do not have to pay for this repair.

M115 shuts down after couple of minutes

Peter, i think u need to check your power saver settings. It might be set to 15 minutes or less. If settings are correct, then try to update BIOS. Pls visit support.toshiba.com for US model or toshiba.ca/support for Canadian model to look for the updated BIOS version.

Try this Peter, i think it will work.

Bios Update failure

You're in a trouble.
If you can get to the motherboard, you could try removing the CMOS battery. This probably won't help, because most laptop CMOS is backed-up.

So you should contact Toshiba with the problem. The chip, which contains the BIOS, on the motherboad needs to be replaced with one, containing a working BIOS for your motherboard. Or your motherboard is to be replaced.
