Question about Apple iPod MA446LL/A MP3 Player

1 Answer

Ipod nano 4gb

I recently bought an ipod nano 4gb and already had itunes installed for my ipod shuffle. when I connected the ipod nano it was not recognised in itunes so I downloaded the 7.5 version. However, it still does not recognise it and is saying "the software required for communicating with the IPOD is not installed correctly. Please reinstall itunes"
I have lost the cd that came with the ipod nano but on the internet it says I just need to install the latest version of itunes and it will find it? I don't want to lost all my music by removing itunes 1st?

If you install the itunes version 7.5 that you downloaded, you wont lose your music library. It is a separate file from the programs installation files. You don't need to uninstall the previous version, the new one will install on top of it.

I purchased a used ipod shuffle. i just bought a charger for it and have itunes already on my computer for my daughters ipod nano... but the computer isnt recognizing my shuffle. how do i make this work

Update the drivers for computer to recognize the player. You can go to the manufacture's website, download the drivers. Once downloaded, double-click the file that was just downloaded, then it will install the files into your computer. Then once installed, restart computer and then you should be good to go.

I got a ipod shuffle and i don't know how to get music on it.

So you didn't know how to sync music to your iPod?

Try this:
1. Download iTunes on http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ (around 60mb)
2. Install it.
3. After iTunes installed, connect your iPod and sync music from your computer to your iPod through iTunes.

Hope this help!

In 1 line:uninstalled the iPod firmware updater program and iTunes. Get a fresh download of the firmware app and iTunes .Try installing iTunes 4.7.1
Steps:
remove the iTunes software and iPod drivers, make sure the iPod isn't connected. Restart the computer and reinstall the software again.

When you log in, load up iTunes (wait till it's fully opened and not in a busy state)
Get a fresh download of the firmware app and iTunes .Try installing iTunes 4.7.1
Then connect your iPod.

Itunes download will only go to F drive

Have you tried downloading manually from:

http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

If you can not select where to save it, maybe try using a different web browser, Firefox should do the trick.

Once downloaded, run the installer and it should update your current version.

Required disk is not available

Hi,
You will probably need a reset program from Apple especially for shuffles. Go to Apple support, click on the shuffle. Download the program and Save it to your desktop. Install the program. Then start the program, and then connect your shufle. It should be restored to factory conditions and ready for use. Hope that helps.

Grab your manual, and go to work - the manual is available from Apple's website if you have lost it:

The 5 Rs: Reset, Retry, Restart, Reinstall, Restore
Remember these five basic suggestions if you have a problem with iPod shuffle. Try
these steps one at a time until the problem is resolved. If one of the following doesn’t
help, read on for solutions to specific problems.
â Reset iPod shuffle by turning it off, waiting five seconds, and then turning it back on
again.
â Retry with a different USB port if you cannot see iPod shuffle in iTunes.
â Restart your computer, and make sure you have the latest software updates
installed.
â Reinstall iTunes software from the latest version on the web.
â Restore iPod shuffle.
