Question about Acer Aspire 3680 Laptop

1 Answer

Headphone jack I was using my 1/8 inch headphones, but I accidentally rammed the headphones to the side while it was connected, so a piece of the male part of the headphone got stuck inside the headphone jack, and it's really jammed in there. Can someone give me explicit instruction on how to disassemble it to get the piece that's stuck out of there?

How do you hook up sound from surface rt to acer monitor 2014

To connect anything to the speakers on your acer monitor you need to use an audio patch cable that has 1/8 inch or mini headphone jacks on each end. Like this one.
5mm Male to Male Stereo Audio Cable...

You connect one end to the headphone jack on your Surface RT and the other to the audio in jack on the monitor. Make sure the power is on for the monitor and that the volume on both is a third or half way up and you should be able to hear the sound.
This is for the monitors user manual.

How to play ipod on koss progressive scan

Take a look at the inputs on the DVD player. If it has an AUX input (looks like a headphone jack) you may be able to connect with a male to male 3.5mm headphone jack. Otherwise you could use a converter that goes from headphone jack to RCA (Red, White, Yellow)

How to work my creative inspire 4.1 without volume control

It is possible. you can connect directly with male to male stereo cable. But careful with Volume, you must lower the volume in the playing device first.
The best alternative is
1. buy the cheap headphone with volume control or use Used old ones
2. Cut the Headphone Side and Solder the Stereo Male jack and plug it and Enjoy!

Jbl roxy over ear headphones ref 430 need to install new cord. how do i open cans?

Headphone speakers stop functioning properly when the wireconnections to the speaker are broken. This problem often develops when theheadphone cord gets jerked while being worn. The solder connection might alsodetach over time if it was not properly manufactured. The wire can bereconnected to the speaker with a soldering iron to repair the headphone. Beaware, though, that headphones are not designed to be user maintained in thisfashion. In some cases, it is difficult to get to the speaker due to the casingdesign.
Instructions and tools needed
Screwdriver or butter knife (depending on headphone design),Soldering iron, Electrical solder
1 Plug in the solderingiron. It takes a few minutes for it to get warm enough to be used.
2 Unscrew the screws holdingthe headphone casing over the speakers. This step applies only to models thatuse screws in the casing.
3 Insert the end of the butterknife into the seam on the headphone ear pieces. Pry the two halves of thecasing apart. This step is performed only on headphone models that do not usescrews in the casing.
4 Touch the tip of thesoldering iron to the electrical solder. A small drop should melt onto the tipof the iron.
5 Touch the tip of the soldering iron to the end of thedetached speaker wire inside the headphone speaker cavity. Try to get an evencoating of solder around the exposed metal end of the wire. The soldersolidifies on the wire once the soldering iron is removed.
6 Touch the end of the wire tothe solder on the metal tab attached to the speaker.
7 Touch the tip of the solderingiron to where the wire and tab connect. The heat of the soldering iron meltsthe solder on the wire and tab together. This repairs the broken connectionbetween the wire and speaker.
8 Replace the speaker casingonto the headphone. It should snap back into place for models without screws Thanks.

We are trying to hook our TV up to our computer to use it as a monitor. What cords do we need to do this besides the normal monitor cord?

if you want audio as well, it will depend on what kind of audio connection your tv has next to the VGA (computer monitor) connection. If it looks like the normal RCA audio, (red and white plugs) you will need to get a male headphone jack (to plug into your computer headphone or speaker out jack) to stereo RCA cable so you would have a headphone jack on one side of the cable and a red and white plug on the other side. Now if your TV just has what look like a headphone jack next to the VGA (computer monitor plug) you will need to buy a male to male stereo headphone jack cable. for both of these, just make sure the cable you get it long enough, or buy an extension.

No sound

I had this problem as well. I would get sound from headphones but unplugging them I had no sound from the builtin speaker.

When you plug in your headphones it moves a thin piece of metal in the jack which interrupts a connection (this is a good thing) so it can know when to disable the internal speaker. When you unplug your headphones the piece of metal moves back and it enables the internal speaker again.

I was able to fix this by taking apart my x51v and bending the piece of metal a little while the headphones are plugged in so that it will contact better when the headphones are unplugged,

To take your axim apart there are 4 screws on the back underneath the rubber grips that you need to take out. Then you can just slide a finger nail up and down each side to remove the front and back of the casing. The back you will need to swing out from the bottom since it hooks over the headphone jack. I unplugged the small wire that connects the front half of the case to the guts using a tiny flat screwdriver.

Inside on the back, there is a black plastic plate that is held on by 4 more screws. Take that off.

Now you can see the headphone jack. I plugged in my headphones and used a small flat screwdriver to push against the headphone jack on the bottom piece of metal on the right side with the axim face down. You can observe the piece I mean by looking at the side of the headphone jack when you plug and unplug headphones. It moves perhaps 1/32 of an inch.

Your goal is to bend the piece of metal closer to where it is when no headphones are plugged in. The only way to bend it properly is to do it when the headphones are in.

Sorry if this isn't clear enough. I'm not sure if this is a permanent fix or not but it's worked for me.

The two ports on the laptop are most likely a mic input and a headphone output.
Connect a cable (stereo) from the headphone output to the stereo input of your amp.
