Monitor goes blank after being on for 5 to 10 minutes. after some readjustment of the cables it comes back on... this does not always work

If the video cable is detachable from the monitor and the computer, sub another set of video cables. If that fails use a spare monitor to see if you have the same problem, if you do! The Video Graphics Card in the computer is suspect, if the spare monitor is fine it means the Westinghouse Monitor is the issue and is not cost effective for repair.

I have a westinghouse monitor L1916hw and my monitor was fine last night but this morn when I woke up the lighting was flickering and then went black and when I turned it off and back on it will stay lit...

Get in the habbit of turning off LCD monitors when not in use. First, save electric. Second, save your monitor as LCD will burn up faster than a CRT. As for your problem, I would assume it's burning out and/or about to burn out...overheating. I would shut the entire system down, let is sit for 5 minutes and reboot everything. If it still fails to strike properly, it is probably toast.

Westinghouse 22 lcd monitor. faint click and went

More likely the filter caps failed and may have taken out the inverter fuse and the MOSFET in the inverter circuits also. yoo need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps:

LCM-17v8 Monitor Blacks out after a few minutes. Unplug power source and you have display again, for how long is anyones guess. Any suggestions

Does this happen ONLY when connected to YOUR computer,
or does this happen when conected to some other notebook/desktop?

If the former, your computer is entering "power-save" mode,
after a few minutes of inactivity. Just "wake-up" your computer,
and it will wake-up the LCD monitor.

If it is the latter, then you have a "hardware" problem with your LCD monitor. Take it to a qualified technician for trouble-shooting.

Black screen after a brief windows loggin screen

It's either the backlight, the inverter or the power supply. My shop would charge $50.00 + parts + shipping. I've repaired alot of Westinghouse monitors and I haven't junked one yet.

I had this same problem and going through the on-screen menus I found a reset option. I reset the monitor settings and the scrolling bars went away. I plan to leave it powered up for a while to see if they come back.

Blank Screen

Be sure that the power cable and the video cable are plugged into your monitor, the power cable is plugged into a good outlet, and the video cable is plugged into your computer. It's possible that you simply have a loose cable.

If everything is installed correctly, and if the screen is completely blank (no "cable disconnected" or "test mode" messages), then it sounds like your monitor is simply dead. Since there was a heavy wind storm recently, it was probably hit by a power surge. If you don't already, I recommend that you use a surge protector for all digital equipment.

Monitor Failure

Your system was not affected because the PSU can prevent power surges. Your monitor's backlight has went out due to surges in electricity to your monitor. Unfortunately, you can not replace the backlight. I would suggest you buy a new monitor. 19" LCD Monitors has have went down dramatically in the past month.
