I realize the topic is a motherboard but please confirm the device you have. if it is the motherboard, check the capacitors surrounding the cpu to see if they are rounded. shut off power and use your finger to feel the tops of them

What fuse would blow if car was boosted with cables reversed

Fuses don't usually blow. What does blow is the diodes inside the computers. I have seen it only take out one computer, Lucky I guess. Most times it is several computers that blow. Year make and model helps.

Magnum s3 locate the protection diode

If you are saying that the device wont power on because the polarity was wrong and now it blows the fuse all the time when hooked up, that would be the reversed power connection protection diode. If you take the unit apart, look where the wires come into the case and connect to the main board. There is an axial lead black cylinder device that is 3 mm thick and has a silver band around it. That is the diode that you are looking for is d93 in the upper right of this diagram

When turn on it blows the fuse

There must be a diode that is faulty in the power supply section mainly on of the rectifying diodes.
If you look closely at your board you will see four diodes that just after the fuse and befroe the Big capaictor(filter cap.) One of these four diodes must be faulty as the fuse keeps blowing. the diodes are responsible of current limitation drawback. So there must be current flowing back to the fuse that makes it keep blowing.
Check and replace. Good luck

Jenn air microwave buzzes then trips breaker

it could be the power relay trying to latch during startup,it could be a leaky high voltage capacitor or high voltage diode leaking or a magnetron tube starting to draw a high amount of current, the cap and diode would only be starting to leak, because if either were shorted the internal ceramic safety fuse would blow

My GE jvm230 blows fuse when the start key is pressed. Refused and all is well until start key is pressed again and the fuse blows. I think my HV cap. is shorted. The HV capaciator isreading less than 1...

It might be the cap but it is probably a bad diode. The diode if shorted to the cabinet will of course blow the fugging fuse every time. The diode should have continuity in one direction only. If the 2 leads between the mag are shorted to chassis the fuse will also blow. You have 3 suspects the diode the cap and the mag. I would replace the cheapest thing first and that would be the diode and i am correct a shitload of times. Peace brother.

No power to radio wont even turn on

The most likely thing is what we techs call revers polarity. this means that the customer accedently hook up the power in reverse. this happens more often then not. The fix for this is to replace the 1 amp diode that goes between the negative and positive power input on the board. the Diode number is a 1N4007 or any 1amp silicone diode. You will also see that once Blown diode is cut the radio will come back on. this does not mean the radio is fixed what this means is that the shorted diode has been removed from the circuit. which also means the radio has nom protection until the diode is replaced.

B;owing fuses, wont power up, just smokes

Try checking the reverse protection diode. This diode would normally be connected right after the power connector and would be the biggest diode inside. One way to verify if this is defective and causing the fuse to blow is even with the power switch at the OFF position, the fuse will still blow.

If on the other hand, the reverse protection diode is good and fuse will not blow when power switch is at OFF, then the short/defective component is inside. There would only be two (2) major components that can cause the fuse to blow with the power switch to ON, the final transistor and/or the audio IC.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
