My galaxy 3 phone will not charge properly how do i fix it

Charging issues is a process of elimination. First the charger....many chargers will fit but not all that fit will work. A bluetooth charger will fit but would never charge your battery completely. Make sure you are using a proper charger. 2nd is the charging port on the phone. If the charger is loose it could be a bad port or the prongs on the charger are not it loose? Or if there is corrosion on the port. If corrosion, clean with alcohol and tooth brush. 3rd is the battery. If its swollen, then it's toast. A li-on battery will start to decrease after 400 to 500 charges.

Broken charger

if it is a broken charger, buy a new charger

if it is a broken charging port, get a universal battery charger

if your battery is swollen or showing water damage, buy a new battery

also check the battery date code, cause batteries expire after a while and this phone is on the older side

It says use genuine battery when i try to turn it on and it says power off and counts down from ten and nothing helps it i tried charging it taking the battery out nothing helps

amandapan13 I want you to take the battery out of the phone. Also feel the battery to see if is swollen in the center of the phone. If the battery is swollen you need a new battery. Take the battery out and clean all the contacts. Then put the battery back in the phone to see if you still have that problem. It could be the phone itsel that is not working. Plug the phone in without the battery. See if you still get that message. Hope this help. One replace the battery if it is swollen. If the battery is not swollen take the phone to the nearest carrier and have them look at it for you.

I just charged my phone and it said charge complete but I do not show any bars on my battery meter...why

hi, the problem you are having is with the battery the chances are you have some bad cells in the battery and this is causing it not to hold a full charge, all you need to do to solve your problem is get hold of a new battery and your phone will be back to normal
let me know if you need further assistance ok

My blitz wont charge

What you need to do first is to open the back of your phone, remove the battery and check if it is swollen,if it is then it is damaged but if its not then place the metal-like charging port on the battery to your tongue and see if it shocks a little then the battery is ok but if no it is no longer strong,After that you would check the pins inside the phone that contacts the battery if no one is damaged, then check if there is a contact between the battery and the pin.
After all the procedure and the phone doesn't charge then you would have to replace the charging port of your phone in order for your phone to work perfectly again.

1) Start->Settings->System tab->Master Clear->1234->ok

2)Press soft-reset for 15sec.

3)Remove the battery, Simultaneously hold volume(-) button and red hangup button, while still holding those keys, insert the battery and wait for the led to go out, release keys and device will hard reset

Does not hold battery charge

Since you have a new phone and a new battery and is still doesn't work ... the first step should be to take it back to where you got it ... have then evaluate it for possible replacement.

Keys do not work

Remove the battery, put it back in, hold the power button for 10 seconds
and turn off. remove the battery again for a few minutes, then put it back in and hold the power button for 5 seconds, if this does not work, you can see what the MFG repair charge would be, or but a phone with a broken
screen but the rest of the phone works on e-bay.

Charging problems

I had the same problem. Take the back off your phone and push down on the battery (the same way you would to install the sim card) so it slides down to make better contact with the battery contacts. I had the same problem and ended up taking a thin piece of paper and sliding it between the battery and the tab at the top of the phone that holds the battery in tight to the contacts.
