My T.V. is making a weird clicking/popping/thumping sound and it sounds like it's coming from the speakers. It will do it for a few seconds stop and then do it again. It pauses the audio when it does...

Tries tv and cables or satalites services boxes unplug, replug it back like about an hour later for tv to do a whole tv set resetting itself back to factory setting and those services boxes rebooting and updating it software.Recheck all tv wires connections and sevices boxes for input cables wires for lose cables wire connections and damages connections cables wires. These steps should help, for stopping the volume just suddenly raise up and out of control for no apperance reasons.

When I turn my tv on my speakers work for apprx 5 minutes than start crackling very loudly then go out. What could cause this ?

Hi, My samsung dlp 46 tv was making a loud crackling and popping sound from the speakers, I turned OFF all the volume
control on my tv from the menu the srs, the auto tune volume, the internal volume which, is the main one which silences the crackling sound immediately! But, you must have surround sound and play the tv volume through your surround sound and wa laaaa, it WORKS! The tv may eventually stilll go out before or if I decide to have it fixed. It is about 3 years old.

My DLP TV made a loud popping sound then went off

first. unplug the set for 5 minutes and see if it will reboot. if it does not the you have 2 problems, the chassis is also bad. next open the lamp door cover, it is behind the speaker grill, and behind the lamp door.
take out the lamp and see if it has broken on the inside if it has it needs to be replaced. mits will send you one i believe it is about 100.00 the number is 915P020010. if the lamp looks ok then the color wheel has probably fallen apart.if this is the case the light engine need to be repaired. check out

Popping, snapping sound

Hello fulby2001,

Have the CRTs checked for grid to cathode shorts. The CRTs do this (pop and crack) when they have Grid Cathode shorts. I would advise having a qualified TV technician do this for you.

Thank you,

I hop this helps

Loud popping and decrease in volume

I'm guessing power supply problems fluctuating, or main control board.

Speaker Issues

likely that the output coupling capacitors are going or the amplifier chip is.
normally the popping sound will be from one speaker but the mixer may share the sound.
best to turn it off and use external speakers hooked up to your equipment. or start troubleshooting the circuit. turn on mute and see if that stops the issue,
or connect ext speakers to the aux out and see if they pop too. if so then the issue is with the amp not the outputs.
be certain that all is grounded well and remove any spike protection ac strips.

Something like this Id have someone who knows there way around electronics, a qualified tech or someone you trust really well :-) Does the crackling affect the TV picture at all ? My first guess would be dust and or dampness on the audio components. Sometimes this can conduct electricity across small pc chips and reak all sorts of havoc. I had an old Tomas electric organ once, and it actually caught fire because two speaker wires were rubbing together and eventually wore thru the insulation and shorted out, but it was also making alot of crackling and static noises. Try raising and lowering the volume low to high and high to low and see if the crackling noises gets worse. Some audio amplifiers put out quite a bit of power, so I wouldnt trust leaving the TV on without a fire extinguisher handy.

The video works perfectly but there is no audio

The best part is that you like the picture and that makes it worth repairing, before you call for an estimate tap on the side of the set and/or the jack panel to see if the sound comes back if it does react you are looking for a loose conection and the repair should not be expensive but if it does not react you might be looking at the stereo amp board and that can be expensive depending in your location,If you are familiar with tv service you can go as far as removing the back cover and taping on the chassis or in the area were the internal speaker wires conect to the chassis or the amp board but if you are not too familiar be safe and call for assistance from a servicer.

Toshiba tz50v51 popping sound

Possible problems: * The TV set may be unplugged. * A fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or switched off. * The remote control unit (RCU) may be disabled. Solutions: * Make sure the TV/VCR are plugged in and the wall switch is on. * Check the fuse or circuit breaker. Test the outlet with a lamp. * Replace the RCU's batteries: if this fails exchange the unit.
