Slim Line Satin Silver PS2 USB Ports Not Reading Jump Drive

I have a Codebreakers disc V.10 made by Pelican Products, and you can update it with new codes for new games that were not already on it when you purchased it by downloading them from your PC and then loading them into your PS2 with a Jump Drive. But every time i go to load up my PS2 with the Disc and the Jump Drive it just goes to the first loading screen and it gets a little light but dose not fully brighten up and thats all it does. Now when it is just the disc in the PS2 it boots right up. The Model Number to my PS2 is SCPH-77001. The Serial No. is- FU5539887. The Bar Code is- PL155398878.

SOURCE: can't play dual layered disk in playstation slim silver

I know, this is very annoying. Mine is SCPH-79001.
Just put in the game like you would any game (that would read) and you should hear a few ticks. Turn the ps2 horizontly with the front facing you. And whenever you hear a tick, just tap it against you knee, then you should hear it spinning.

My ps2 wouldn't read GH world tour or metallica, but know it works. Hope I helped

My ps2 wont read silver back disks. how do you fix it

Hi there!
When your PS2 starts to have problems reading silver backed discs you could be experiencing one of 2 different problems:
  1. Your laser or disc is dirty (clean off your disc with a soft cotton cloth, and clean the laser in your PS2 with a cd drive cleaning cd)
  2. The laser in your PS2 is going, you will need to take it into a shop to have it repaired, replace the laser or disc drive yourself (this will void the warranty if you have one) or get a new or different PS2.
Hope this helps!

A silver slim ps2 is unable to play certain games

Okay, are you using the original PS2? If you are then it more then likely is the age of the console. The original PS2 console actually can't play some of the games that were made after the PS2 slim was released. If your using the slim than the only thing i can advise is to try using a laser lens cleaner disc and see if that helps :)

PS2 Slim Disc Wont Spin

Sounds like the laser has gone out. The unit will not try to spin unless the laser can see the disc. A new laser can be picked up on ebay for less than $10

Ps2 slim problems reading disc

After countless hours of tying to figure this out I went to the basics. This ps2 slim has 3 sensors and after all sensors are the key to making the machine work properly. After testing everything known to man I decided to go around the sensors by taping them all down. Low and behold when I cranked the ps2 slim up the disc now reads and plays perfectly.

How to attatch 7" Pelican Game Glass to slim Ps2

Slim PS2s have to holes on back left and right. The far edges one lower right hand side of the power plug and another on the upper left side of the fan exhaust. Hard not to notice. I've never actually noticed they were screw holes I figured they were just... holes. Hope this helps.

My PS2 Slim plays music, black and blue discs, but doesn't play silver discs nor DVDs.

Is this a new problem or has your PS2 always had this issue? You cannot adjust the laser at all and are likely to damage it if you try, you can however clean the laser lens with a CD/DVD cleaning disk and you'd be surprised how often this resolves disk read issues. Some of these units did have a production fault that prevented them from reading DVD's, if your PS2 has had this fault since new and/or is under 12 months old you could probably have had it repaired/replaced by Sony but by opening it you will have invalidated you're warranty.

Pelican Predator 697 problem...

Pelican Products are unlicensed by Sony and would also void any warranty you had on the PS2. (Me not being a Employee, just what they'd tell you) Have you tried turning off the console taking out the Batteries of the controller,Unplugging the controller from the ports and replugging it back in? Also try a Dual Shock 2 Analog controller (If you have yours still) and see if your ports have gone bad. Usually 3rd party controls could potentially damage your PS2's Controller port as they do not supply the correct power or Data for your system.
