Re: how to restar the camara

Look under your camera . get a thumbtack or paperclip you should see a tiny hole that should say reset. if you hold this button for a few seconds it will put all setting back to original settings. try that and let me know how it works for you. I have the dsc-p71 your models reset button maybe located somewhere else, just look for it and try this out. good luck.

When i turn on the camara it says to turn off and turn on

initialize the settings of the system.
press the menu button then look for the toolbox icon with a number one at the bottom then select initialize. click ok and confirm selection.this process doesnt delete your pictures.

if menu is not accessible you can also try to remove battery then press and hold power button for a min then reinsert battery and try to turn it on again.

I have a Kodak M763. The camara don't want to turn on. Don't work

If you have recently dropped the camera you may have damaged the lens tube (housing). This damage will prevent the lens from moving properly and will cause the camera to shut itself off after a few seconds. If the lens is damaged the camera will require professional repair. If the lens is not damaged, the problem may be battery related. Make sure that you have the correct battery type installed, and that the batteries are fresh/fully charged. If the problem persists, you may have corrosion on the battery contacts inside that camera that is preventing full battery power from flowing to the camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the inside camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sand paper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and reinstall them in the camera. This cleaning solves the problem about 90% of the time, and I hope it works for you.

My canon A95 comes on and goes off after few seconds.

Try to reset your camera using a command in the set up menu. An error message followed by turning itself off, usually means lens jam. Replace the lens.

Camara turns on beeps shuts off

You need to power it with rechargable batteries. with the MAH being no less than 2000. I bought a charger which came with 2batteries for less than a tenner

Dirt /dust in the lens and lens gear box ( this drives zooming only ) preventing optimum functioning. Lens cannot properly come on line ( shutter and diaphragh mechanism then do not come on line ) and the camera switches off. Solution : is ether replace lens unit or dismantle lens to clean out ( from gear box and the helicoil of the lens ).

Lens problem

If you've replaced the batteries with fresh ones, it probably has a broken zoom assembly. It'll have to be replaced by a repair shop.

Does your battery work with regular AA alkaline batteries ? They have higher voltage than NiMH rechargeable. I'm having a similar problem, just discovered today that my camera works fine with AA alkaline batteries.
