  • Anonymous Sep 21, 2008

Computer was fine before I went to work, left it on all day like I do all the time, came home and I had no wireless, and a fancy "code 10" when I checked what the conflict was all about in the device manager.

I have the same problem. My laptop was working fine then all suddenly, my wireless is down and my card keeps giving me a code 10 after uninstalling and reinstalling it several times. HELP!!!!!!

Yes the vista compatible drivers on the manufacturers website (netgear) do not let me install it on the following op systems

Vista 32 bit , Vista 64 bit, Win 7 64 bit and maybe even win 7 32 bit.

Even when it does work with XP pro and lower I would really appreaciate not having to take the pci adapter out as part of the installation routine to install the drivers. (after re-installing a clean install for whatever reason).

Workarounds that supposedly work for some others (via net forums do not work with my Netgear WG 311v3 adapter.

Which leads me to believe there are mixed quality adapter sout there selling at the same price. As for netgear support - forget it

M200? Is this a Toshiba laptop? Error Code 10 can mean many things, but the first thing I would try is a Driver Upgrade. Reliable Drivers can usually be found at the manufacturer's website.

I'd look at the webstei for the mfg of your card, and see if they give definitions for the error code.

If the suggested driver update doesn't help, look at any other changes in your system lately. Have you installed any other software that might be interfering with your current settings? (Firewalls, new anti virus, even a virus!)

Also, have you moved anything electronic near the computer you are using it from? Things like radios, tvs and even electric fans can mess with internet connections... be sure the area isn't near anything magnetic or electronic that isn't normally there.

Make sure it is in the expansion bay properly, if it is not connected, it might not work. if it still does not work, add a different network or sound card to that bay and see if it works, if not, your PC's expansion bay is damaged, if it does work, you need a different Network card

Can I use my ATT air card with my Toshiba Portege M200 tablet pc?

I have owned several tablet PC's and all of them (including my most recent Toshiba) worked just fine with the existing wi-fi card. Please be clear, however, that AT&T wireless air card service and "wi-fi" are two different things.
Your AT&T card pulls internet service over cellular connections, and your wi-fi card connects to a local hot spot (if available) or your own wireless internet access.
First of all, be sure that you have an active AT&T laptop connect account and then follow these steps:
Power on your laptop. Insert the AT&T wireless air card into an available USB slot. Wait a few moments (this may take several minutes some times), and the card will typically start attempting to install itself and its software. If you have any trouble with this, ATT provides free installation tech-support at the following site:

You may also have them contact you at your convenience by going to this page and filling out the form:

Hope this helps!
