SOURCE: I HAVE A WHIRLPOOL DRYER

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

check out this electric no heat tip...

I have a Commercial Quality Whirlpool model LER4634PQo 4 cycle/ 3 temp electric dryer. The drum turns but it's not producing any heat. it's hooked up to a double breaker. It worked...

Hello,
The most prominent things to go out causing the dryer to not heat are, thermal cutoff, high limit thermostat, heat element & cycling thermostat. All of those in the rear of the dryer and be checked with a meter set a low ohms setting and check all listed parts for continuty. THe picture shows locations of all those parts. The only one in the picture that has nothing to do with it not heating is the THERMAL FUSE,the thermal cutoff is different from the thermal fuse. If all those check good i would suspect the TIMER as being the problem but most likely it will be one of those on the back as pictured.
Good luck,i hope i have been able to help you determine why your dryer won't heat...GENE

2005 Whirlpool Gas Dryer. It won't heat. The coils won't glow. Had the fuses, ignitor, and coils checked and are ok. Could it be the timer? How do I check it?o

MY LER4634PQO DRYER HAS STOPPED GETTING HEATED? FUSE BOX WAS CHECKED AND THAT WAS OKAY..WHAT COULD IT BE?

ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DO ANY WORK ON IT.
Check to make sure you are getting full 220 Volt power to the dryer, if you are then:
Sounds like your problem may be with the heating coil. Remove the back/or front just under the door of the machine and try to locate the air duct going from the blower to the drum. Normally inside/outside of the air duct you will find the heating coil and the thermostats/thermistor. Once you have located the heating coil, remove the two wires from it and check the coil with an ohm meter across the two terminals of the coil.
You should read continuity across the terminals, if not you will need to replace the coil as it is faulty.
If the heating coil is ok, then:
You can check the thermostat/thermistor one at a time, by removing the two wires and taping them together with electrical tape or with an ohm meter. (Should have/show continuity)
If the coil heats up then replace the thermostat/thermistor.
DO NOT LEAVE THE WIRES TAPED TOGETHER AFTER THE TEST.
This could cause a FIRE, as you have removed the safety of overheat from the machine.

Whirlpool model LER4634PQO dryer. Will not heat. Dryer also will not shut off. Timer is running but will not shut off at the end of cycle. Can manually shut off and opening the door also shuts dryer off.

96f3244.jpgEither the top limit or the element is open, that is why the timer motor is not advancing. The small wire on the bottom limit powers the timer motor. The fuse is not blown because the dryer runs. The fuse has smaller wires and is tied into the door switch wiring and when it blows it is as if you opened the door. If the top limit is dead it is because of a vent blockage. I have repair photos HERE
