If you don't have access to the 1080p tv, you can hold the stand-by button until you hear a second beep. The video settings should be resetted to a SD tv and you'll be able to configure from there.

This can be accomplished through your system settings in the xbm, go to video output mode and select the hdmi option and it should walk you threw the settings and you can adjust your resolution there

I have a 47" Visio 1080p. Tv is always set at hdmi

AV inputs are for standard analog video which is 480i. HDMI and Component inputs are the high definition inputs that run at either 1080i or 1080p You won't ever get 1080i or p through AV inputs.

My playstation 3 will not play in 1080p. It used to work, but when we switched cables, it wont work in HD.

When you switched cables, you mean you changed the cord running from the PS3 to the TV? HD content requires an HDMI connection from the PS3 to the TV. It is possible that when you changed cables, you replaced the PS3's HDMI cable with Component Cables which can only deliver in Standard Definition and not in High Definition (720p, 1080i and 1080p).

Mode Not Supported

Set the PS3 to 1080i for your HL-P5663W. I verified the owners manual and this TV does not support 1080p even by PC input.

How do i change the setting to 1080p

the tv will automatically switch to 1080p if its capable of displaying 1080p when the signal is supplied. currently only blue ray dvd players, playstation 3, and certain satelite recievers can output 1080p signals.

Why does my platstation 3 display 1200x720 on samsung lcd tv when i put a game in. On my tv it display the out put on screen when ever i put in a movie our game.

your question is a bit unclear but here are some suggestions:

1 your tv doesent support 1080p or 1080i
2 it could be that the game/dvd is not in 1080p or 1080i
3 it could be your tv is set to minimize resoultions

i am not an expert i am just wingin' it here.

No dolby digitaL ON BLU-RAY FIMLS played thro a ps3,

prologic is a form of dolby digital, the 4.0 or 5.1 (versions I and II respectively) to be exact. the type of dolby version is determined by the source disk. the reciever may expand a dolby digital signal into 7.1 but it is actually a 5.1 standard, as is prologicII
