Question about Panasonic PT-43LC14 43" Rear Projection HDTV

Open Question

Air filter warning, then shuts off

I've already took the back off my PT43-lc14, sprayed it all out with some compressed air, but the air filter warning keeps coming on and turning off my TV. Wicked annoying, I don't see an air filter, and everyone online is saying there isn't one. What do I do????

SOURCE: Air filter error message

remove all the screws from the lower panel the ones with the arrows , after all the screws are removed the lower panel should come out , in the very center of the tv inside you will see some wires in front of a black plastic cover about 6" X 3" .carefully move the wires out of the way by moving them down . after the wires are moved get a phillips screw driver with a magnetic tip memove the screws from black cover be very carefull not to drop the screws into the tv . after the screws are removed carefully pull the black cover off . under the cover youll see the "AIR FILTER" carfully pry the filter out i used a butter knife .
take out the filter and blow it out using light air pressure. the filter may look clean but its not ,check it by putting a flashlight on the filter and looking through it before and after . to reinsstall just reverse the process.. before i discovered this i called panasonic directly they stated i had to take it to a authorized service center, i called a center and they said $350.00 for a house call and 250.00 if i brought it to them .

good luck i hope i saved you some money !

SOURCE: How do I clean air filter on the Panasonic PT-50LCX64?

I feel bad for you having such problems with the vendor and the technician too.
The location of that filter could be a small window in the back cover itself. could be a plastic window to the left side of the unit and is only a piece of plastic poliuretane kind of black sponge about 5 by 3 inches size .
What im interested telling you about the shut down condition and is maybe even most important than where is the air filter (who is one of the more than ten posibilities why the tv goes to shut down.
if the air filter is totally obstructed i would give one of ten probabities of suspicious why the tv shuts down:
first because the tv's air duct is not really isolated. The fan can eat air by any side of the air filter base as i said if the filter is totally obstructing which is really extreme. besides maybe the other 2 fans could help to cool down the unit in that case scenario. In my experience Most time the air filter holds tons of dust but is not totally obstructing the air passing, and really some other problems are in the set.

This is the really critical to know: if any of those fans stopped or maybe any sensor is overheated or the lamp is coming to dead or who knows.. a diagnosis is needed for this symptom really common in DLP technology.

I've got a little southland tiller and the thing

Remove the air cleaner and spray carb cleaner into the throat of the carb then try to start. If it starts right up for a second then its a fuel problem and the carb will need to be rebuilt, also check the fuel lines and filter. If it wont run for a second on the prime then you have an ignition or compression problem.

Does the engine have good compression? The ring in a 125 does not last very long - the bike could be down on compression pressure. Re-ring it.

Is your air filter clean? I've seen them so filthy that they were actually brittle. Check your air filter.

How about your spark plug? They do burn out. Replace with a new one.

If it's loaded up, pull the plug, hold the throttle wide open and kick the snot out of it about 20 times, then put a fresh plug in it and try it again.

Good luck!

My Toro Model 20070 that until now has always started on the first pull, won't start at all now. It started fine last week. It's getting spark (a little more yellow than blue). I replaced the plug,...

Hold the butterfly valve (behind air filter) open with a screwdriver, while somebody else tries to start it. Toro has had problems with atuomatic chokes. If it fires right up, thats the problem! If so, just wire it open, or contact Toro for a repair kit. Try using starting fluid, not carb cleaner, and spray directly into the head through the spark plug port. If you didn't do it already, blow out all the ports in the carb with compressed air, or carb cleaner. Also, be sure the safety lever is engaging correctly (top bar on handle) at the engine. Lawn mowers are pretty simple, so the problem is most likely simple too.

Sounds like it could be. (without checking to see if you have a "pulse" at the injectors) You can usully hear a difference in the way it turns over with a cam belt issue.

Oil in air cleaner

Run it minus an air filter until all the oil is off your piston head, you can also try keeping the plug out and ejecting the oil via that access by pulling the cord. It seems like you've already solved the problem, now you're just cleaning up.

A small air pump is located on back of motor when sends compressed air into nozzle to lift fuel from tank. It sounds like the rotor portion of your pump is broken

Mower runs for a few minutes and cuts out

The problem you describe sounds like it could be fuel starvation. I would suggest checking the carburetor, fuel filter (if it has one), and all the fuel lines. Another possibility would be the air filter, but I'd check the fuel system first. This is most likely a carburetor problem. You'll need some carburetor cleaner and some compressed air (a compressor with an air nozzle fitting) or canned compressed air for a computer. Remove the air filter and spray the carb cleaner directly into the carb throat. You'll also notice a primer venturi hole and possibly a secondary venturi. Spray the cleaner into them directly. Allow to sit of 5 or 10 minutes then blow out the venturi with the compressed air. It may also be necessary (for a gravity feed carb) to remove the float bowl and spray cleaner into the main feed tube. Blow this out with the compressed air also. Reassemble and start the mower. If you were able to blow out the venturi obstructions, the mower should now run fine.
I hope this helps and good luck. Please remember to vote f131669.jpg below if this was helpful in any way. Thanks.

Warning light comes on that T.V. will shut off in one minute & to call a technician to clean air filter.

Sounds like a plasma, or projection system. Find the fan inlet filter, remove the foam filter, and vacuum with a dust buster. You can use a can of compressed air to blow the filter clean, too.
