We've lost PSP manual and need a new one.

Step 1. Connect your PSP to your computer using a USB leab.
Step 2. Goto settings on your PSP and select USB connection
Step 3. Look in "My computer" on your PC or laptop and your PSP will be listed as another drive.
Step 4. Double click the PSP drive (usually E:) and then right click on the window that opens and select "New Folder". Call this new folder "Music"
Step 5. Drag all your MP3 files into this new music folder you created.
Step 6. Press "O" on your PSP to exit USB connection.
Step 7. Select the music menu then scroll down to Memory stick. All your music should be in that folder.

Hope this helps

About music

i have placed an answer to your previous premium post, this may work as well as my first suggestion and Marked's.

  1. Connect the PSP to your PC with a USB cable. (about $10: buy a USB cable for your PSP)
  2. Press the "home" button on the PSP (it's a tiny button to the lower left of the screen) then use the left-right directional buttons to find "Settings", then the up-down buttons to find "USB Connection" on the PSP.
  3. Press the "X" button (you got it, the round button with the "X" on it) and your PSP should display "USB Connection".
  4. In a moment or two your computer should tell you that a new USB device has been connected, then show you a new generic hard drive, usually E: or F:
  5. Click on the drive letter that corresponds to the PSP unit.
  6. Now create a new folder on that drive and name it "psp".
  7. Within the new "psp" folder create another folder, and name it "music".
  8. Copy your desired mp3 files into the new "music" folder.
  9. When you're done copying your desired music tracks, press the "O" button on the PSP to get out of USB connect mode.

hope this helps.

Cannot Enable WMA Playback

what ever you do, DO NOT RESET SETTINGS cause then you just have to reset them and it wont do you any good. I had the same problem. The most lodgicall way to solve this is just to spend like 3 bucks at mcdonalds and get the wifi so you can play online multiplayer, go on the internet, and fix the wma feature. Or you could just free load off of a friends wifi or wirless setup. But you may have to enter a security code.

Owners manual

Actually, there is an instructions manual ON the PSP! You need a wireless internet connection though... In the main menu on the PSP, there should be an icon that looks like a question mark that says on the side, "Online Instruction Manuals". (It's located under "Network".)

If you have a router in your house (Wireless internet connection) then you should be able to connect to it with your PSP.

Once you click on the icon, the PSP will say "You must create a network connection to continue." Press X to continue. Now it will give you a few options to get an internet connection. Before you go any further, make sure your WLAN switch is on. (It's located at the top to the left on the PSP.) next, click "Scan" at the top of the menu. The PSP will now scan for internet connections. It will give you a list of internet connections that it found. Yours should be in there. After clicking on your internet connection, it will say "SSID" and have your connection name displayed underneath it. Ignore this step and press right. Now it will say "WLAN Security Setting" and will have a list of security settings. If your internet does not have any security, press "None". It will now say "Address Settings". Press "Easy". Now you can name it. You don't have to, of course, but you can by clicking X to edit. It will show you your settings list. This is just to make sure that everything is correct. Press right to continue than press X to save settings. It will bring you back to the beginning with your internet connection name highlighted. Click on it and it will connect to your connection and load the page.

This online instructions manual is much better than the one that came with your PSP as it is kept up-to-date with the latest version of the PSP. If you have any questions, please ask! ^-^

How do i load music

heh heh... Okay, Make sure you're downloading them into the music folder on your memory stick. (You may have to create a folder that says "Music". The instructions manual tells you everything.)

Another problem is: 8385ace.jpg This is a pic of the instructions manual. It shows that you cannot save music within a folder inside another folder. When the PSP tries to read music, it searches in the "Music" folder. If there is another folder within the "Music" folder with music in it, the PSP can play it. But, if there is a folder in another folder, the PSP cannot find it and says there is no music. (That is really hard to explain!) Look at the picture and you'll get it. ^-^; If there are any questions you want to ask, please do!

Sony psp

Hi PrincessDi,

The PSP can only connect to the internet through WIFI.  You can ride around to find a hot spot, or go to an internet cafe'.  I can go to the big sity nearby on main street and always pick up a hotspot. Run network connection to setup the wifi and connect.  In your home you will need internet, and a router setup to broudcast Wifi.  The USB port on your PSP is for loading up stuff like music Video and games.  You could go online on your computer and go to and download Music,Video, Wallpapers, Screenshots, and trial Games. Then hook up your PSP through the USB connection to load whatever you downloaded on your computer to the MagicGate Card in your PSP. also has the manual you can download under PSP and Support.
