Question about Dell 962 Photo All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

I am getting a cartridge jam message but can't find a cause. Printer makes a clackety noise and the ink cartridges remain to the side instead of centering when the lid is opened.

I have a dell all in one printer 944. When I turn it on it keeps sending the message, "change ink cartridge" I have changed the cartridge twice and message remains the same. Is it broken?

Are you using Dell Series 5 ink cartridges?

Please unplug the printer from the wall. Now remove the power brick from the back of the printer for 60 seconds. Now plug everything back in. This will reset any error messages the printer has. Now open the printer with the power on and the cartridges should go to the center to be replaced. Take out both Dell Series 5 ink cartridges and make sure the tape is off the cartridges and insert both back in and make sure the seat properly and latch. Close the printer and it should print an alignment page. If you still get the error message, please read bleow.

Black cartridge = black side(left side) Color cartridge = Color side(right side)

Dell Series 5 ink cartridges have a sensor in them that cannot be reset. Article on refilling Dell ink cartridges.

Dell Series 5 ink cartridges can be purchased at Staples, Walmart or Dell's Website.

It is also possible to get a new ink cartridge with a bad sensor. Please take it to the place of purchase for a refund or a replacement one.

Eu.Facut same problem and I reset everything is clean and error plus cartridges when they go to the left makes a strange noise, as if the printer with them! Thank you!

Hi

I believe that the ink cartridge is making jammed for sometime that cause strange noise when ink cartridge going to the left side.

Just use the WD40 sprayer to clean the metal guide (if metal). This is good for lubricating and rust remover.

I hope it helps you.

Dell 942 carrier jam

This morning I replaced the cartridges in the Dell 942 printer, they jammed to the left which made a loud grinding noise and the cartridge jam error came on.

I solved the problem by turning the printer on with the top up which moved the cartridges to the right a little so I could reach back, push one down a little manually which freed them to move over to the middle.

Carrier Jam

The top of my ink cartridge had fallen off and was in the printer... I hadn't seen any paper or anything and was completely stumped, when I picked it up and heard something in there... It was hard to get back on, but now it works!

I have a jammed cartridge, what can I do

The last two MFP printers brought into my shop had problems from their original setup and opening. Check the inside, anywhere that the paper path or cartridge line touches, make sure there are no small shards of plastic or remaining packing materials like tape or cardboard flakes deep in the printer. There are also small jam sensors that protrude very little from the paper path that if knocked over a little bit can become loose and ironically cause jams.
