Question about Nikon Speedlight SB-600 TTL Flash

1 Answer

Stuck on zoom... Constant clicking

Every time I turn on my flash it starts "clicking". It sounds like something inside is stuck and is repeatly hitting something else. It used to do this occasionally but now it won't stop. I don't know why it started doing this or even how I got it to stop. Thanks to anyone who may have a solution.

Is not working properly

A good possibility is the zoom head is causing the clicking sound. As we zoom the flash, the inside of the head moves to the back and forward. Gently tap it a few times see if that helps. My guess is it needs servicing.

the clicking sound is coming most likely from the printhead carriage, if you open the printer so you can see the cartridges, is the carriage stuck? trying to move to a direction and makeing the sound?

I have a 2003 chevy cavalier and is making a constant loud knocking noise on the inside passanger side. What could it be? Please help!

My 03 had a recall on the HVAC controls, it was getting stuck inside the HVAC box and making a clicking or knocking sound from the same area

It ended up being something like a door that moves when you switch the air from moving from the defrost to the feet position getting stuck

Hope this helps

Lens problem, turn camera back off then on message

That usually occurs after the camera has been dropped or dirt is stuck inside the moving parts. I have had this on two cameras; one was filled with dirt, and eventually started working again. If you can try to clean it while it is fully extended and retracted you may be able to get away with a simple fix. Cleaning it in one position may be impossible.

My other camera was dropped into dirt (with a lot of force...fell on it). After trying to clean it with the above method I was able to get it to finally work. The clicking you hear is the zoom mechanism binding on 'something', which is either dirt or a bent or broken part inside. After a few seconds it will shut off to prevent causing further damage.

METZ 48 af-1 N "err at the place where zoom value displays in LCD

Is seem a little bit strange but it worked for fine me
The problem is mechanical. The zoommirror in the flashhead is stuck. Mostly it is a minor opstacel. That is the reason that sometimes the problem is solved by placing new batteries. The zoommotor has a little bit more power en can overcome the minor opstacel.
When the zoom is blocked it cannot be controled by the stering software and therefore it gives an error.
Solution
1. remove flash from our camera (power off).
2. knok with something hard, I used my fingerknuckle, on the side of your flash head.
3. repeat that for each side (i knocked twice on each side).
4. place our flasher on the camera and power on both.
5. If the problem isn't solved repeat it

It worked for me the first time.

Konica Minolta Zoom 160c won't turn on--lens stuck out and open

There is some kind of grit or something in the lens gearing mechanism, preventing its movement. Take it to a repair facility, or replace it.

Camera really messed up!

Have you tried taking out the batteries and leaving it alone for a bit, then loading new batteries? I would try this first before anything. Good Luck.
