Have you turned your printer on and off? When you pulled the paper out, is there a chance that a corner stuck in the feed assembly and you didn't get it all?

Paper feed problem

This is happening due to paper jam on the gear or roller of the paper feed mechanism. Check for any small bits of paper or sheet stuck. To check lift up the top plastic lid of the Canon printer. Check to see if a jammed sheet of paper is visible inside the printer. Remove the cartridges and check for any small paper bits stuck under the print head. Pull the paper out gently through the bottom end of the printer(if any). Close the top plastic lid. Power On the printer and check.

If it doesn't work then power off the printer, wait 10 seconds and power it back on. try once again to print. If it doesn't work then Open the Canon printer software. Click "Options" and then select the "Clean Print Heads" button.

Trying to fax out something and it keeps telling me jammed

Open up the cover over the adf feed. Make sure there's no paper caught in the mechanism. If I recall correctly (don't have one in front of me), the rollers can be lifted out of this one. Try this and make sure you didn't miss anything. DO NOT FORCE IT. If the rollers don't snap out with only a little pressure, seek another way to pull them out, or perhaops I was incorrect.

If there's no paper, you probably have a stuck or broken sensor flag. The feeds use these flags to detect the presence of paper, so if it's stuck, it's detecting paper when there isn't supposed to be, so the printer thinks you're jammed. If you see the flag and it appears to be stuck, use a stretched paper clip to get it back in place. Again, DO NOT FORCE IT, or you could bereak the flag or the sensor.

If the flag appears to be broken, then you will have to call HP if the unit is in warranty. They do not allow ASPs to work on inkjet printers in warranty and you have to return the unit to them. Often, they will cross-ship you a replacement. Call 1-800-HP-INVENT

Paper jam

You have a piece of paper stuck in one of the switches that tells the machine you have a paper jam. One of the worst things to cause these are printing peel off labels as they sometimes peel off while printing and get caught in the mechanim. You have a jam it's just not a full size piece.

Paper jam 580

You know what I would try, look in the fuser unit and see if any paper ripped off and got stuck in there. Wait until it's cooled down, but usually if you have to pull paper of of there, little pieces can get caught in there. Also, you may have a full sheet in there, I've had people leave and entire sheet in the fuser all scrunched up and the machine print fine for another 100 prints and then have an error and the paper coming out looking like it almost caught fire.

That's where I would look first if there isn't anything in the print path under the toners, etc.

Printer errror!

From looking at the online manual, seems to indicate that there may be something stuck in the printer paper path somewhere. It mentions a paper clip... A small piece of paper, any foreign object could be caught . Another possibility is that a sensor is either defective, or, if a mechanical (like a switch) the lever which activates the switch might be either jammed, bent, broken, making the system sense an error, when actually there isn't one. You should take a very careful look inside the printer, using a good light to help look in the paper path for some abnormality. Maybe you will get lucky and find!
