Question about Sharp Office Equipment & Supplies
This little copier has been a faithful companion in my home business for over 10 years. But for the past 8 months, the paper jams just as it is coming through the rollers. About 1/4'' to 1/2'' of the paper will peek through (usually at an angle, toward the user) and jams. After nearly a dozen tries, I can get a single copy or a single job with multiple copies (without jamming -- go figure). After some experimenting, I learned that the weight of the paper seems to make a difference on how successful I am in getting a copy made within the first couple of tries. Heavy resume paper and even a single sheet of the light tri-carbon paper works better than the standard 20lb. paper. Can this problem be fixed? Does it require a replacement part, and if so, where can I find it? Except for this frustration, the quality of the output is fine. Thanks in advance!
A few things come to mind;
1) Feed rollers in tray are either worn or dirty
2) Transport tires are dirty
3) Fuser worn
If you've had this for 10 years and have not done much to it besides a toner or drum then I would recommend taking it to a qualified technician.

Testimonial: "Finally found someone to service my copier. Turns out rollers were badly worn, just like you said. Good to have that 2nd opinion going in. Thanks!"
