The CISS are auto resetebale? If not, you must get a CISS with an autoreset button to get the printer work with the CISS

Replace all ink cartridges and the printer will work again. The level indicators are just indicators and are not precise.

Ink cartridge slams from side to side and lights

Epsons often experience this odd problem. This is a sort of tempory fix.
turn printer on allow carriage to leave its base and disconnect the power cord.

Clean the rails the cartridges run on. You should notice the cloth comes away with black stuff.
Use a small amount of sewing machine oil on a cloth and wipe the rails again ( or small amount of wd40 on a cloth.

Slide the carriage along and back a few times. then return it to home and reconnect power cord and turn on. That should get it to behave for a few more weeks/months. If it continues, then the head is damaged and will have to be renewed or buy a new Canon Printer. ( NOT EPSON)

Epson Stylus C88 - New Epson Factory ink cartridges. Nothing prints, although printer goes through the motions of printing. What could be wrong? Ink levels are fine.

You should run a nozzle check to verify if the heads are printing all the inks correctly. If the pattern is incomplete you need to run head cleanings.

Epson c88 shows ink out in all four cartridges but they are full

Are they "original" Epson ink-cartridges, or have they been refilled? Often, the refilled cartridges will show as "empty", but they work, until they _do_ get empty.

Epson sx200 One of the colour inks is empty and no print in black

Hi, this is not a solution because I don't think there is one apart from buying new inks. Epson and all other inkjet printers do this to prevent the coloured print head nozzles from getting blocked. If they are not used for a long time the ink dries up and blocks the nozzles. Epson recommends printing at least once a month with all colours to prevent this. Printing in black only option will only work if the colored inks are OK. Whenever the printer is turned on it performs a head clean, this is why the coloured inks get used over time even though they are not used for printing.

Changed the black ink on epson c88 and it will not print

Hi,

Unfortunately yes... you need to have at least some ink in each cartridge or the printer will refuse to work.

I did post up a long explanation of why this was on another solution but I can't find it so short version is that it does this to stop damage to the printhead nozzles.

Hope that helps.

NO WAY TO TELL WHICH INK IS LOW OR NEEDS REPLACING ON STYLUS C88+

Sounds as if you have either Linux or a Mac computer. There are ink level monitors for these operating systems, However there can be problems installing them.

On Windows the ink level monitor should pop up when printing. It is part of the printer utilities. Open printer properties and set the options desired.

When the printer stops printing, press the ink button and remove the indicated cartridge and replace. If more than one remove and shake next to your ear, replace the empty cartridges only. A tiny amount of ink remains in the cartridge when empty. This amount is so small it has a distinct sound signature compared to a part used cartridge.

Problem using sublimation inks

Since you are using sublmation ink, the cartridges are probably aftermarket and may not meet Epson standards. Aftermarket chipped cartridges are notorious for failing to 'communicate' with Epson printers, even when the cartridge is brand new. Before taking the printer to a service center, you might try purchasing new cartridges of your ink from your reseller. If that fixes the problem then your fight is with the ink reseller, not Epson. If it doesn't fix the problem and your printer is still under warranty, take it to an authorized service center, and remember, using non-Epson ink does NOT void the waranty.
