Question about Yamaha TSS-1 Computer Speakers
I have a gateway gm5422 with bose companion 5 speakers, with a vista ultima sp2 OS. The speakers worked fine until I upgraded to Sp2. I tried other speakers and they did the same thing. Bought a new sound card, and it still does it. I can be watching a video in regular view and when I go to full screen, I lose my sound. I can reboot the computer and sometimes the sound comes back. I can unplug the bose system for 30 seconds and they start working again, but sometime during the day they stop. I have talked to bose service and done everything they told me to do but the problem continues. Not the speakers, not the sound card (connected to the mother board) or the new pci sound car. I don't know what else to try. Any suggestions?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Front Speakers stopped working
turn on your video and start something playing, press the speakers button repeatedly until the sound comes back. this should bring back your front speakers, if it doesn't, double check your speaker connections and sound field program.
the speakers button should cycle through all available front speaker options.

the last click you hear before the amp turns on is the power relays for the amp circuit, these have 2 very small copper contacts inside them which after much time get corroded and cause high resistance when they try to power up the amplifier circuit.awkward to get to and desolder but can be opened up and serviced, done mine and a few friends with yamaha amps which use similar system, had no problem since, also worth checking for dry joints around amp chip i.c legs onto main board.

theres probably a problem with the right channel cable or plug that connects the tv to the reciever, or the tv is set to mono audio.

Make sure you have set blu ray player out put to bitstream,if you have set to pcm for hd master audio and dolby true you need to have a amp to decode this and hook up with a hdmi cable. If your amp has hdmi in and out but no high def audio you may still get multi channel audio.
Hope this helps.

First of all you should never indicate speakers as Large unless they can produce below 20Hz (which is very low), otherwise always set your speakers to Small.
Second, did you also indicate in teh setupmenu that you have a subwoofer? Because if all speakers are set to Large some receivers will omit a subwoofer because Large indicates the speakers can reproduce all sounds even below 20Hz.
So walk through your setup menu, say YES when the sub (SFW) is asked for and that should do the trick.
