I had this same problem as well for the Lasko 5540 as what smelled like an electrical smoldering which is awful. Had to take the unit outside to get the smell out of the house. I cannot find this particular model as a 'recall' and I'm not exactly electrically inclined. Any assistance is appreciated

I'm having the same problem with the Lasko 5395 Model. It keeps turning off after a little while and I have to unplug it for about 20 minutes or so before I can plug it back in. I picked it up by the handle on the back a while ago and moved it gently. Then when I moved it back and tried turning it on, it made a weird buzzing noise and started to smell like burning. I noticed some smoke coming out of the vent. I think it's time for a new heater unless Lasko can fix it. I've had the heater for about a year now. I never set the temperature above about 75 degrees maximum. Now it won't even go above 71 before it shuts off.

I have a LASKO 5565 model fan and had a similiar problem. Cleaned the whole unit, thinking it was tripping the safety breakers, and it still would turn on and off. The control console was completely unusable. So then I thought that it was maybe the squat switch located on the bottom of the unit. I quickly deduced that not to be the problem and continued following the wiring. Just above the fan there is a 1/2"X1/2" thermostat. Upon touching it I almost burned myself. For some reason the unit was grounding here and cause the thermostat to heat up and shut the unit off. I took the thermostat out of the equation and the unit works great.

CAUTION: If you pursue this action you must understand that you no longer have a thermostat and the unit is now simply just a heater. It will either be on at full blast heat or it will be off. Good luck.

I had one of these that would immediately start to heat up when just plugging into the wall without turning it on! Then it would shutdown from an overheat condition. I found the bad part! Mouser Part #: 771-BT139-800E127
I think the one that was in there was rated 600v, so this 800v is much better. I think this is a hazzard if you ask me. When that part goes out it creates a shorted condition. I put a watt meter on it and it was drawing over 1700 watts. But after replacing the part its been working great since then.

Error code E 61 shows and dryer shuts off after about 5 minutes.

Good Afternoon Melissa, thank you for your post!

Typically, an E61 error code is an indication of a short circuit. Let's try resetting the dryer by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker to the off position. It is important to wait approximately ten minutes and then turn the dryer on. If resetting the power does not correct the issue, your appliance could be experiencing a potential heater relay failure, control board issue or wiring problem. I would suggest contacting an experienced service technician to determine the precise cause.

Best regards!

My 441 model monitor heater kicks on but cuts off in about ten

Mine cut off also. I thought it was the wall plug. But as it turned out, I took the cover off the back, cleaned the filter (kinda like a blow dryer clogs in the back) and it is working fine now..... Hope that helps...

You may have a 'TEST" mode on your Generator. Ten Minutes is usually the duration of the 'Exercise' function of most units, so I'd like to determine what mode you are starting your generator in. Please comment.

B3101 AEG oven cuts out after approx. 15 minutes - why?

this is probably the thermal cut-out causing the problem. not sure where it is located but possibly on the roof of the oven or in the rear casing near the fan. however, the cause may be lack of ventilation to the unit as a whole
